also cut a hole in the fiewall for the hydraulics, if you do the swap the booster has to be taken out as it will be in the way. Not a big issue really but when I did my swap I got a LS1 master and booster at the same time as it was out already. Other than what pocket and STREETDEMON said there isnt much to it besides time

Re: auto to manual?
Note even if you dont swap boosters, its an easy swap and i didnt remove my original booster at all.I do suggest however during the swap..if anything even gives you a single doubt of failure..replace it before putting it in your car.Like the clutch..master/salve cylinders, bearings, clutch line etc.I made sure not to skimp on the things I didnt want to have re-do later for the sake of being cheap.
Theres lots of good info here on doing the swaps and i followed them step by step with no experience and its been amazing.

I'm going through the same swap and got some help from pocket as well. Here is a link that may help out for you.

I got a set of clutch pedals from a 4th gen with all the sensors and pigtails on it. It also helps to drop the steering column when you have to get in there and put in the pedals.

Re: auto to manual?
Please keep the info coming. I am also conscidering this swap as well so the more info the better along with as many pics as well.On a side note, does anyone know of a company that might make an aftermarket set of bolt in pedals and master cylinder for 3rd gens?
I have checked out Wilwood, but they are more generic than anything. I'm looking for a more direct fit if I go the way of the six speed.
Thanks in advance.

Re: auto to manual?
i got the pedals so far. would i need a 4th gen master cylinder or can i run a wilwood style?
like one of these?

also im pulling the whole dash cause im takin everything out and putting new gauges, mounting the computer and other electronics under there, also might be ounting the coil packs there too.

Re: auto to manual?
it isnt cheap for the tick master..i agree.but there are good deals to be had on them if you do a group purchase over at ls1tech.com
i did alot of research on them on a few boards before i bit the bullet and bought mine.seeing many..and many vette, fbodies, gto guys etc complain about the stock gm master and other aftermarket master in comparison to the tick is what sold me on it.
when i group purchased mine earlier this yr,they had a promo on ls1tech selling the tick stuff for a fair discount on everything they offer.i paid nearly $100 less on the unit plus shipping to canada. and installation was easier than i expected considering it looks massive outside the box.hasnt given me a single problem..adjusting it is easy aswell.i dont mind spending a few extra bucks on a quality unit if im installing it only once.

Re: auto to manual?
Any pics of it installed? I am Willing to pay more for something that looks better and has a cleaner install as my car will see more car shows than the occasional autocross event up here.

Re: auto to manual?
i got one pic but its not the greatest angle.after that pic i painted everything black for a cleaner look.
the 4thgen pedal assembly was my guide to drill my holes and lined up perfectly on the firewall.getting the tick master in there without removing my steering etc was a lil tricky but i suggest removing the adjust rod first and reinstall it from inside the car.
switching from auto to 4thgen pedals and installing the tick master took me less than 2 hrs with no experience in making this swap.i was very pleased.
note that tick uses a tilton unit as you can clearly see in my second pic.tilton makes some great stuff.
and as far as getting a set of pedals aftermarket that work for our cars..nothing works better than 3rdgen pedals and use 4thgen hydraulics,or 4thgen all the way.using anything else or generic clutch pedal only type setups is a guessing game of trial and error before you get it dialed in properly.
there is a reason why most of us are running these setups..it works..its been tested and proven.both have pros n cons but both can be made to be 100%.all of which are explained in previous threads in here if you do a quick search.its a relatively easy task to do.i was scared to do it on my own but once i started..it was easy since i followed directions from here step by step.
ill post this link again for reference:
