Valve covers look good. What'd you use to fill the holes in with?

Good job on those valve covers, they turned out real nice.
JB Weld is amazing stuff, I have fixed a number of dirt bike cases in the past with it and they always held up very well.

Re: My turbo 4.8l 87 IROC build
well the theme of the car is red, black and silver.
the engine bay is goin to be black the motor is pretty much goin to be all silver and i think the valve covers are goin to be the only thing thats goin to be red.

ya i say leave it. you could paint it,but then you always have to worry about it peeling off. are you going to upgrade the cam on that motor?
Re: My turbo 4.8l 87 IROC build
especially since the engine bay is black like mine. trying like heck to add contrast to my engine bay short of pulling, painting, and reinstalling my engine.

Re: My turbo 4.8l 87 IROC build
keep it aluminum. and look to see if you can find an ls6 cam or something man, those 4.8's don't like to go over about 5500rpm before they fall flat, and that turbo is going to want to live around 6800 or higher.

I've gotta see pics of those gauges when you're done
I've gotta ditch the mechanical speedo too and will prolly get all new gauges as well. Those look pretty solid!

Re: My turbo 4.8l 87 IROC build
does anyone have a drawing or a pic for reference on where to cut the hole for the shifter?
Re: My turbo 4.8l 87 IROC build
Install the engine/trans without shifter and tape covering the hole. Mark the 4 corners with a sharpie. Drill and use cutoff wheel to connect the 4 corners
