Simple question, seems to be difficult answer
I want to know if a Camaro engine cover from a 2010 SS (see here) will fit on a LS6 top end. I know the LS3 is different heads and manifold combo, but I'm trying to do a clean engine bay and want to incorporate the SS engine cover without having to do major modifications. Ive been told yes by about 50% and no by 50% anyone have anything close to a definitive answer?

Your link goes to a blank search page (at least for me).
Personally, I absolutely hate non-functional plastic. I might put coil covers on if that was the condition for getting a free LS3. But that's about the only way.

Re: Simple question, seems to be difficult answer
This is for my 'vert which Im going for look as much as function. Ill never see a track, but that doesn't mean I cant put out 450hp and make it look good doing it

Technically I would prefer if I could get the engine bay to look like the second attached image.
Re: Simple question, seems to be difficult answer
The cover shouldn't really have anything to do with the top end. The mounting points on the valve covers are what matter as that's where the cover will be fastened to (I think)
Also your attachments dont resemble anything like a stock ls3 engine cover..In fact the red and black one is for a V6. The V8 cover will have the oil fill cap on the passenger side up towards the front.

Re: Simple question, seems to be difficult answer
It looks to lack the cutout for fuel lines and I'm not sure the oil filler is in the exact same position/angle. Valve breather fittings are different between LS1 and LS3. Based on that you know for certain it will not bolt on without modification. Also not sure it will clear the throttle cable bracket (5th gen Camaro is drive by wire). I think you'll have better luck asking this question at LS1tech.com
Watch Katech and SLP on ebay. They sell takeoffs from new and slightly used cars. I recently bought a set of black LS7 Lingenfelter aluminum covers from Katech for $100 ($600 new). It didn't fit my LS3 heads so I sold them for $300. If I could always make money on mistakes then I'd be rich by now.
