Air cleaner Intake Bellows question

I would like to use the stock tpi air cleaner system of my 91 Camaro for my ls1 engine swap. Will the 91 bellows work with the ls or is there something else you guys are using.

Define "work".

Can it be connected to the LS1 MAF and TB? Yes.

Will it provide sufficient flow to supply the LS1? Yes, as long as you don't go WOT.

in other words not really what I want to use. I just like the looks of it but I suppose I will have to go a different way. I thought it would flow enough air with after market filters.

Re: Air cleaner Intake Bellows question

Has anybody proven on a dyno, or even with 1/4 mile times that the stock air box is costing horsepower at stock ls1 hp levels? I see people say this all the time, but nobody used to say it with high power tpi/super ram/hsr/miniram setups that all made more power than a lot of ls swaps.

I've never had one, haven't flow tested one, haven't dyno tested one.

The "typical" high-HP modified TPI set-up I've seen around this Board replaced it with a high-flow CAI system. Often it's the first mod done to a TPI.

Re: Air cleaner Intake Bellows question

To be honest I think the cai units make allot of noise and give the impression that the car runs better. Would love to see someone actually do several runs on a car with the both units and compare. I am sticking with the stock.
