MN12 Issue
So i drove the 5.3/MN12 tonight, having an issue, it will not go into 2nd or 3rd. WOT shift from 1st to second results in grinding 2nd and wont go in...
im running a modded 3rd gen clutch master w/4th gen line w/drill mod to 4th gen slave. Any thoughts?

Re: MN12 Issue
Just unplug the CAGs? I think you have to get the code tuned out..but in the mean time all it will do is cause a CEL I think.
I didnt think CAGs would cause a gear grind though. Just activates a solenoid that makes you pull straight back into 4th instead of 2nd. And I thought that only activated during certain conditions...but WOT wasnt one of them.
My first thoughts were to bleed your hydraulics some more. Then go from there. A number of issues could cause what you are experiencing.
And it could very well be CAGs...because I havent really dealt with it. It was never activated in my swap. But I was pretty sure of how it worked, Im sure someone else will chime in.
Good luck!

Re: MN12 Issue
When I was having clutch issues from a crappy MC, it would go into gear just fine with the car not running, but as soon as you start the car, the friction of the rotating flywheel against the input shaft/clutch made it grind real bad. Reverse was nearly impossible to get into with the car running.
I wouldn't rule out anything right now.

Re: MN12 Issue
None of my harnesses come with CAGS unless you specifically request it. Ill save you a trip and tell you there's nothing to unplug down there
T56's get VSS, reverse lockout and back-up lights

Ah I didnt realize you had a Pocket harness...weird that there would even be a CAGs plug under there... I know the Reverse lock out and cags share the same plug, and that lots of guys get those mixed around. So double check that too.
And yeah...going into all gears while the motor is off is normal. You dont even really need the clutch for that to happen.
What clutch are you running? I could probably search under your name but Im brain numb from taking care of a newborn haha. Did you get a New GM slave cylinder when you put things together?
