ls1 swap in 82 z28
I have an 82 Z28 and i am putting an ls1 from a 2002 trans am in it. The problem is that may gauges are completely screwed up. The fuses are good and I already have bought a new cluster. But it still wont work. Would it be easier or even possible to get the cluster out of the trans am and fit it in the Z28? And bypass all of the old wiring?
Please help, thanks.

Wormdog, welcome aboard thirdgen.org.
I moved this to the "LTX and LSX" engine swap subforum.
Yes, you could swap in the cluster from the LS1 donor car. Quite a few people have done that. It's a bit of work.
This might be easier:

You would run new wires to its module (or, at least, you could), so you would probably bypass whatever is causing your mess in the current dash.
Have you gotten the engine running yet? Did you connect both of the large red power wires that went to the battery cable on the starter in the original harness?
