You think you're smiling now? Just wait til you take it for a drive!! And get some 4.10 gears to go with that T56.

Even stock, the LS1 throttle response is just unreal and makes the car completely different and way more fun than any carbed engine I've had installed.

Hmmmm........, now I know what I want for Christmas. The thing is beautiful out of the car just sitting there. I know you'll enjoy the performance increase once you get that in your 86 IROC.

Re: Why can't I wipe the smile off my face?......

Yes it is an unbelievable feeling to have it sitting there, and was a pretty good score to boot!!

I got it off a really good seller off ls1tech, he actually has a build thread on here somewhere. What a great guy, and he has sold a bunch of these. He basically searched for a car, bought the car at auction for me, and then sold me the entire dropout. I got pretty much everything I need for the swap off the donor car. I have pics of the car sitting in the yard at auction, and a video of it running before he pulled it.

2002 SS w/ exactly 90k on it. Little more mileage than I wanted, but it runs great, and the price was good. He also threw in the gas tank with all the plastic fuel lines up to the filter, the pedals and hydraulics, complete wiring w/ OBDII of course, radiator w/ fans and condenser, all accessories....Oh yeah and it already has a PRO 5.0 shifter in it.

Now to the basement she goes to start on my wiring before I get my car out of storage!

I was really impressed with how it got crated up. Even wrapped it all in cardboard so sticky wouldn't get too curious. Thanks to you and a few others who convinced me to buy the dropout, rather than the truck motor and piece meal it together! I just lucked out and found a great seller.

Certainly does, and such a plus seeing and hearing it run too. I am soooo excited, I can't wait to start my build thread. But I got a little time before that starts.

How much did you have to drop for the drop out if you dont mind me asking. Also ask your seller if he would mind you giving me his info? PM or email works, bstrang6@gmail.com.

BTW I wouldn't be sleeping if I knew that was in my basement, I'd have to take a few weeks off work, a small loan for the incidentals, and a lot of redbull lol

Lets just say the price was more than fair for what I got. Much cheaper than anything on Ebay! I have to contact the seller anyways, so I will ask him if he is still going to be doing this, before I just speak for him. Also, I think my brother is going to be selling an LS1/4L60e in the near future. No accessories though, and not sure what oil pan. If interested PM me.

Yes, and like the title says, every time I walk into the garage, I grin from ear to ear.
I could have gotten the whole car, but shipping would have killed me!

Nice, I would love to go 6.0 with l92 down the road. But staying stock for now. I may end with with my bro's ported 243's he has on his 5.3 turbo if he goes 6.0. 243 heads are nice performance for the money!

For sure.
got milled 317s on my 6.0 now and my previous 6.0 motor. .060 over, stock crank and rods, speed pro replacement pistons. With self ported 243s. Car put down 496rw thru stock ls6 intake. They are excellent heads with proper work. Even stock as is they are very good performers.

That's some good #'s. My goal, after the swap is done, is to get into the low 400's without spending a ton of money. That's the one good thing about those good 'ol iron blocks, you can bore them nice.

OK so I know a few people have contacted me and wanted to know where I got my dropout. I asked my seller if he minded me mentioning his name, and he doesn't, so here it is:

andrew69_04 is the seller. He is on here or ls1tech under the same name. It is up to you to contact him and see what he has.

All I can say, is he was great to do business with. Stand up guy!
