Fuel Line Help

I'm setting up for my LT1 swap. I'm gonna make it a carb setup. I'm going to use a in line fuel pump (255 lph), but my fuel lines are from 1986.

What kind of line should I run? Braided is too costly right now. What are my alternatives? Any help would be appreciated.

If there's nothing wrong with the lines in the car, I'd reuse them. Maybe just flush them out or something.

Hell that car is 26 years old. If you have to be up under the car anyway why not upgrade the fuel lines to make sure. One less thing to worry about when you drop in that hot motor:-)

My car is an '89 getting a new LS1 and I reused the factory fuel lines. There was nothing wrong with them & they give me the volume I need. I just can't see spending the money if they are in good shape. But that's just me.

I got you, but his motor will be making some good power and he will be adding a power adder in the future. Plus 25 feet of high flow 3/8" fuel line only cost $25 at CP and when I took down my old factory lines when I did mine they were crimp in some spots, rusted in some spots and smashed just like my brake lines was. If yours is fine and you don't need them then leave them in.

My stock IROC lines fed a 600hp carb motor for years of street and track use. Also had a 340m 255lph pump. Aeromotive universal bypass fuel pressure regulator. <--- long name for a tiny part. Haha

Im using my stock lines for the turbo inline 6 also.

Not saying that stock lines can't be used, hell you can use whatever you want on your car. I'm saying that I have worked on many cars and have seen lots of things that people do that I wouldn't take the chance of. Why risk it. The lines could be in like new condition or have a rusted weak spot that you can't see or a crimp somewhere on the line (my Mustang GT was like that). I would just spend the $25 and get new better lines. That's like when people put a 500hp motor in a 20+ year old car and leave in the stock brake system and go drag or road racing. Or Put a $3000 rotating assmbly in a stock sbc 400 block and spray it with a 300 shot. Will it run yeah but for how long and what will it tare up when it goes.
