LSX/LTX timeslips
Ok well I thought id start up a timeslip thread to see what everybodys running... Post up your times, mods and some more info on yout build... My plan is to hit the strip friday eben in this hot alabama weather and see what my ls2's got...
Ls2, trickflow heads, big cam, fast 102, circle d 4k converter, built 60e and 8.8 with 3.55's... Tuner said it should make 450ish rwhp unlocked converter and hoping to grab some 6.90's in good air

Re: LSX/LTX timeslips
With my old 355 LT1 with a 230/236 cam, longtubes, roller rockers, and some home ported heads, and a 75 shot through a 700r4 with 3.73 gears my car went 12.5x at 114. Not the fastest time ever but it was done on a crappy test and tune night where they never prep the track. Car made 33x rwhp and 34x rwtq without the nitrous.

Stock 2002 LS1, 12.98@110.36. That's on a 2.1 sixty foot time during an 85 degree day at Gateway on the Power Tour. I sure hope to have some better times to report soon, new slicks in the nearby future.
Re: LSX/LTX timeslips
stock shortblock LT1 w/ ported heads and single plane efi.... ~425rwhp
cheater plate 180 shot
th400
9.44@139
i later changed to an edelbrock 2 stage plate and swapped to a 275 radial along with some other suspension changes, and got it to run fairly consistent 6.00's in the 1/8 with a 150 shot. (didnt get a chance to turn on the other kit)
went 6.10 with a 100 shot.

This is the LS1/T56 car. These timeslips aren't posted because of great ETs, but for the RTs (I'm P346 - get it?). We were only running 1/8 mile that day because of track conditions (cold, humid, snow in the days preceding). DA was in the 7300-7400' range.

Last September, with the LS1/4L60E car at Brainerd, MN, DA 1000', 6 mph head wind:
60'----1.650
330'---4.897
1/8----7.643
MPH--89.440
1000'-10.019
1/4---12.023
MPH--112.35
At altitude, DA ~7800', 3 mph head wind, its best run to date:
60'----1.789
5330'--5.270
1/8----8.171
MPH--84.720
1000'-10.692
1/4---12.822
MPH--106.040

Re: LSX/LTX timeslips
My times suck... lol
This was my first time to the track ever. Thought my street tires were gonna hook for some reason and i dumped the clutch each time around -4500rpms. Spun like crazy each time as the 60ft can tell. Anyone have any guesses to whay i may get with a better 60ft?

*track is mir. No idea on da.

I believe the high mileage, my spinning brought my time down and trap.

11.87@117 I was very surprised .I was in the 12-12.2 most of the night. Let it sit till late and cooled down. Not bad for such a mild combo I think.

Re: LSX/LTX timeslips
I guess it's not a good idea to leave conclusions to the imagination. It means as this thread populates with data that a lot of people are going to be surprised who is fast and who is not. I'm not so surprised though and I love sleepers! You've got one hell of a time slip and that's something to be proud of!
I might be asking you some questions about your TH400 setup when I get to that point.I drove a sleeper once and I knew it was ugly. That was the whole point because it was a win-win situation. If I lost to a nice car, so what? (Just look at my pile of junk.) But if I won... LOL! I was the hunter in that car and it was a lot of fun. I've also owned 2 Corvettes and I can tell you that it wasn't as fun as it might seem because I was always the hunted. Basically, I was driving the benchmark that most people want to beat. Saps the fun out of winning a race because it's kind of expected that you should win. I probably won't get another 'Vette because it's just more fun being the unexpected winner. That's why I started working on my Firebird again.
Although, the real purpose of the Firebird is "shop therapy" and the only priority is having fun with it. Finishing it might be an unfortunate side effect sooner or later.

Re: LSX/LTX timeslips
sarcasm over the internet doesn't translate well, lol.
ask away on the th400 stuff, it's simple...like putting one behind a genIsbc just about.
i don't agree with you though. i think mine and 1nasty86's cars are nice, well put together cars. being sportcoupes make them more sleeperish, but not ugly
for some reason, folks won't race me when i'm out floating around in the car though, lol

Nope. Stock tune. No rear o2s are the only ses codes that show up. The dude i brought it from said it had close to 100,000 miles on it when i brought the donor car until we hooked up the battery and it said close to 185,000.
I believe the high mileage, my spinning brought my time down and trap.

only to a point. there is a threshold i believe he had crossed where spinning hurts everything. a 2.5 sec 60' means he lit them up john force burnout style.

My old car best time was 11.50's with 1.45 60' trap speed @ 118-120. 386 LT1/T56 will have to dig up ticket to get all times. dynoed @ 450 rwh 492 wrt. launching out at 5400 rpm shifting @ 7300. Damn I miss my car!!!!!

Motoring.... it's looking voltage about half way through the run which can't be good because it feels lazy on the big end..... get that fixed and hoping to go some 6.8x and 10.7x-10.8x @ 3450 raceweight

You're flying 1nasty86. 10 second NA street car, almost impossible in decades past.
I've whittled my ET down to a 7.62@90 in the 1/8, gotta love knocking 8 tenths off the ET and not even yet touching the engine. Gears FTW!

I guess I should update with results from this season.
At altitude, 12.69 @ 107 (DA ~7000'). At HPT, 11.95 @ 114 (~1200' DA).
And, just to support the "ugly fast" contention...

took the 5.3 out today. this was the first time out at the track with a manual transmission for me ever. we were also on a hardtire since the race i was at was a hardtire only race. can't wait to get the new slicks on and get back to the track.
all in all, i think i did pretty good for my first time out with all new variables, lol
2.054
8.33@89
12.70@113
3700lbs, equates to 390rwhp.

Re: LSX/LTX timeslips
My two best slips from my 4th gen TA that I sold (#301). Same motor is going in my 3rd gen Camaro sport coupe (different turbos though).
427 RHS block LS motor, PT106 turbo, 265cc heads, super victor intake, Powerglide trans with a tight turbo converter
Was on an epic pass on the 2nd timeslip, but had to lift at 200' for about 0.8 seconds due to a power wheelie...not cool when you can't see the end of the track doing 100 mph. Had it set to kill on that pass...43psi out the back door. Log showed I was up 11mph from the previous run when I lifted , probably would've gone 200mph on that pass
7.72 run:
