5.3 stock/cammed/turbo dynos

here are some dyno of the same engine as i did mods to the 03 suburban 5.3 and 4l60 trans
this is when it was all stock with stock ls1 exhuast manifold cutout closed and open

this one is when i added the weiand ls6 intake and a comp cam 222/224 567/569
as you can see now it makes power all the to 6500

now this is with the same set up as above with a garret gt42r turbo /60pound injectors and base speed density tune
blue line are with 4 pounds of boost and the red is with 8 pounds of boost

and this are just pics of the car

Numbers look good. How conservative is the 8psi tune? I think my friends stock 5.3 at 9 psi made 570's whp thru but i think with meth inj. Cam id expect a tad more but good nonetheless

Nice, one day i will boost a LS, but not yet. Why the newer front nose and older GFX? Or is it just me?

Re: 5.3 stock/cammed/turbo dynos

I got two questions. With any turbo, isn't it limited to 92 octane gas only??. And doesn't turbo's require more frequent oil changes because the turbo's are so reliant on good clean oil but coke the oil up faster because of heat??.

Re: 5.3 stock/cammed/turbo dynos

You can run whatever gas you want as long as you tune for it. Oil gets hotter and turbo bearings would be more susceptible to damage from dirty oil so more frequent changes wouldnt hurt but you could install inline filters on the feeds to keep particles out if thats an issue

Thanks for the reply Orr.Guess your talking waste gate for tuning. The numbers these guys are talking must be the best pump gas you can get.You guys have a retard system for the ignition on the top end??. I would think the cam grind is for a turbo only.

Sorry guy,I am just as curious as a cat on somethings and honestly don't mean to hi-jack you thread.
