I have the lt1 sitting in the engine bay and I can get one motor mount to line up with no issues(passenger side) but the driver side is about an inch high. The k member side motor mounts are just stock third gen v8 mounts. The clamshells are stamped steel from an unkown application. I think I have read that the third gen clamshells are side specific and I know these are identical side to side. So my question - is the driver side clamshell high because the spohn crossmember is expecting a third gen clamshell?
After searching(tedious because of the words I have to use - motor mount) I think I found a thread that describes my problem, but the OP did not come back and post his final solution. I am convinced it is because I am using standard brackets that are the same side to side. If I had the driver side third gen bracket it would probably drop right in.
The thread shows the pics that show what I am dealing with:

Maybe, no one has had your specific problem. I remember reading about problems fitting mounts to after market Ks, esp the one you have.... maybe try a search that includes words like "problems".
Sometimes this search feature works great, other times it is terrible.

I have read alot of the threads about problems with the spohn k member. So far mine has given me no problems. I ordered a set of "engine side" mounts from eBay. I'll try them when they get here and post the results.
I would contact the MFG of the "K", with pictures and ask for a resolution
I may have figured it out for ya look here https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/ltx-...ounts-bmr.html working on the answer
The problem was the motor mounts. I found a set of left and right third gen f body mounts on ebay. I put them on tonight and the motor dropped in place without much hassle. My driver side headman long tube header fits better now too.
edit:
By motor mounts, I mean the block side stamped motor mount brackets
