3rd Gen Evap with LS1 swap

I've been searching for a couple hours and found some interesting threads that conflict with each other. So, I want to see if I'm correct here.

The swap will use a 3rd Gen fuel tank and lines with a Walbro pump to put out the correct fuel pressure. The EVAP line will enter the engine bay in its original location.

1 thread points to removing the charcoal canister and just running a rubber line from the canister purge valve to the solenoid near the fuel rail. Then use the solenoid by the fuel rail to control the vapor release into the TB. Without the LS1 fuel tank, this appears to require some tuning of the ECM to disable the fuel tank pressure sensor.

Other threads make it look like the only way to have working EVAP is to use the LS1 tank and dash.

Can someone tell me what it actually takes?

I've sorted out the AIR system and the motor is using a LS6 intake so there isn't an EGR. O2 sensors are also easy. The EVAP is the final component of the emissions.
