Little update was having issue with fuel level sender for some reason it always was reading full but it was dead empty so pulled it out and mess around and stretch the metal piece out amd cleaned it up and corrected the issue tried to prime fuel line but noting came out fuel line tried to prime it couple time just be turn to on position but nothing only put 2 gallons so im make some runs and add more fuel as it been sitting dry and im going to double check some fuel lines for kinks and done correctly but i sure its done correctly ,i use one rubber hose im im pretty sure its kink so im re adjust it

And installed tge Apex Arc 8 wheels there 18x10 all around with 275s
And she will be clayed ,rubbing, polishing in wax did and small portion paint still doesnt look half bad ...time to get this milk bucket back on the street
And tinting also 35% side 20% rear ,yellow fogs, hid projector retro fit , and full shampoo clean interior

Tried to start almost crank up till starter broke going to get new one today i had older starter design so newers desigb is way stronger

I tried to start till starter mount snap off battery was low so 1 waiting for stronger updated starter to come in and 2 need to charge battery, so thats pretty much holding me back right now

Yea you can see where the old style starter where mounting is snap off and its about a inch thick so not very strong most of the load is on that bolt also so witgmh age and it being stressed can form cracks

It is a weak point some people have issues others dont as yoy can see witg new style it a large chunk of metal so you need to long bolts


On another note replace starter , tgen batter was completly dead so charged it tried to start it just back fires and wheb applying gas it turns on and runs but as i let off it just shuts off

First thought that comes to mind is VATs in computer wasnt ever turned off when i sent in to get mail order tune for 42lb injectors either i forgot to say it or they forgot

What you guys think , im not to familiar with vats for ls1 but i assume its same as tpi but car starts so that throws me off as i thought vats completly shuts off fueling

VATS will allow max 3 sec of run time. If you can feather it and get it to run longer, it needs a tune

The only time Ive seen LS1 starters snap like that is when they use the starter and a breaker bar against the ground to loosen the crank bolt

Been reading also where it could be a MAF either leak or bad sensor

Yea i wasnt feathering it but doesnt even idle only when pushing trottle about 60-90% down it begins to come to life till i release and it just shuts down no idle or nothing

Im beginning to think if they even loaded the fuel chart for the 42lb injectors and left the stock tune for stock injector size , i only paid the guy 80 i think i prob just send to frost or EPS since thats where i got my cam from

So tried again and some times it starts and run time is around 2 sec then shuts off but I feather it and runs little longer but let off gas shuts off going send computer out this weekend to get tune , but going to look locally for tune shop for faster turnaround time

What p/n or application is that starter? I just bought a '02 LS1 Camaro starter and it is made with the shorter mounting bolt boss.

I got mines off ebay , but iirc there from truck so pretty much just buy the truck version , i wouldnt stress to much about it , mines broke for some weird reason i got it used so who knows i might of already been cracked and i just finish it

Its hard to tell what the difference is btw all the center pieces. Is it just what the outside edge of the center section looks like? Or does the lens change? It looks like you got the gatling guns. Did you just order that center just off a guess? Or was it something you saw before because they look sick. There are so many to choose from on his website.

Just pic the one you like and any color combo you want its chrome with a tint so no guessing here i know what i wanted and the look i was going for , so it wasnt hard for me i dont like chrome or alot of bling i also didnt want it too dark so tinted chrome seemed to be the happy medium

So i pulled the plugs out getting spark in all but cylinders 3,4 and 6 others plug are black so i know its running rich so after i get off ill trouble shoot that and see what i find

Forgot to mention that the spark plugs on cylinders 3,4 and 6 look like new still no black residue from ignition

injectors are new

Im kinda thinking plug wires are not seated all the way some how or there bad

Yea i agree and im thinking its the injector , as i check one cylinder and got spark at the plug im try other 2 and see if i get the same results

I regapped all plugs too .050 most of them where less than .030 range ,but really doesnt explain dead cylinder

Im run codes when i get the hptuner i got used just waiting for the cable to come in this week

So check injectors getting power to injector ran spark plug and getting spark at injector to cylinder execpt number 4 and so i swap wire around and nothing and swap coil around and nothing so check if i was getting power to coil from connector to coil and i am getting that

If you've got spark, then its a fuel issue

Move the injectors to other holes and try again. If the dead cyls follow the injectors, then they are the culprits

Yea hope not then I would have to send them back so they can look at them they where rebuilt etc by FIC but will try tomorrow

Well cylinder 4 wasn't getting no spark, but removed plug and threads where wet and smell like fuel ,

also which is weird I switch coil around and still same thing which has me confused a bit with the trouble shooting part as when I remove coil back it work on the other cylinders

And when removing spark plug I smell fuel so I believe there's some type of fueling going thru injectors

Could it be I don't have good ground , I ground left and right head for harness and then I connected them together with a wire then from passenger head I then grounded that to body and then battery is then grounded to same passenger head side , I don't think I have a ground issue lol

Idk but there's something goofy going on

Had a similar issue. Mine ended up being that the coil pack harness was backwards.

If the coil harness hasnt been disturbed, dont worry about it

Grounds are easy. The 2-3 from the harness need to be securely bolted to the cyl heads. Ground cable to the block, engine to chassis ground. Done

Single coil dead is often a bad coil. Move it and see if the no-fire follows it

Yea non fire doesn't follow I switch 4 different coils and plug wires , did it like 4 times yesterday lol will double check everything again

Coil harness was taken apart to be cleaned so they could be flip but harness only goes one way idk but I'll try flipping them

Might be the coil harnesses are reversed, look at the colors
Pnk, Brn, Blk are present on all 8 plus another color

Ill check tomorrow when Im at the garage, but the coils are supposed to be wired so each group can be fitted to either bank without changes

I flip harness still same thing , I switch coils around and still no spark on cylinder 4, I ran a scanner and got codes p0452, p1860, and p0356

For code p1860 when I had tran apart I notice it was crack abit at terminal so that's easy fix to replace


All injectors have batt 12v+ when in run.

All pcm batt+ (Blue 20/57) and ignition batt+ (Blue 19) are good

All PCM ground pins are good. Pins 1 & 40 on Red and Blue.

All coil connectors have 12v+ ignition power in run

All coil connectors have proper signal wires. Continuity from PCM connectors to individual coil connectors is good and proper pins.

Coil connector to engine block grounds are good.

Coil connectors PCM low ref to PCM pins continuity is good.

Plugs are brushed and blown clean. Engine is pumped clean from any flooding situation. All subsequent tests have been done with injector fuses and fuel pump fuse pulled. Injectors all fire which was causing flooding on cylinders that don’t have firing coils.

All injectors prime and pulse

All spark plugs product spark if coil is proper signalled and fired. EXCEPT CYLINDER 4

If crank and cam sensor where bad it should of pulled a code so I can safely say there good ???

I'm tap out think I did everything I could to rule fueling out and air sensors etc , so going to drop a pretty penny and replace all coils ugh

Pick up another set of coils or order them off rockauto for cheap

Do a continuity test from the coil white connector to the indiv coil. The old harness may have a break in it. Very strange its coding #6 and dead on #4

Yea i did that there 12v power at all 8 coil connectors with ign On , i havent check for signal from pcm but i figured if im getting power then it should get signal , ill be getting a volt meter and test hertz to see if pcm sending signal , yes i inspected harness and theres no breaks

Sigh i dont mind trouble shooting but im stumped because this strange

zach i had an issue on a fuel injector i chased for over a year. it would come and go. it ended up being in the "sealed" part of the connector. the wire was broke loose from the pin and would intermittently not make contact throwing a code. so maybe your issue is inside the connector?
