BMR torque arm and Drew's crossmember install
After 5 years with a BMR Trak Pak, I got tired of the low ground clearance. I picked up one of their regular adjustable torque arms and parts of the forward mount, so I could weld it onto my Drew's transmission mount (with T-56).

I picked up the largest forward bracket possible, so I could have more options to cut it down. The first time I set everything up I didn't think it would fit, but there's just enough room.

Drew's mount was originally open on the bottom, so I had it boxed in while the bracket was welded on. I never had any cracks before, but I think this will give it plenty of strength with the torque arm attached to it.

Here's everything installed and back on the ground. It's still low, but at least that low cross bar is gone!

the only thing keeping me from running the trak-pak is the ground clearance. my z/28 isn't even lowered and i rub on the gravel heading out to the paved road.

Ive got the track pak and the only thing I hit is my driveway with it as its a odd angle. never hit anything else with it. Ive tucked it up as high as I could tho. Thinking of flattening the round tube where it bends and using flat steel there to give me an inch if possible

The trak pak is great for drag racing, but it annoyed me many times with normal street use. It's just nice not having to worry about that any more.
I forgot to take pictures before installing the new bracket. The piece is welded on the top and rear side of the trans mount, and there's a brace welded on the left side to stop lateral movement. With the trans mount being boxed in, I don't think there will be any problems with overall strength.
