LT1 MAF routing issues
I have a 94 LT1 I am putting into my 84 Z28. I bought the a/c relocation bracket from bowers race and rod.

I am keeping the thirdgen radiator. I am having a hard time fitting the intake elbow due to the radiator lines. Does someone make a kit for a 90 degree down intake kit w/MAF? Or, can I modify a "ram air box" to go with my Ram Air Hood?

Says it's for MAS (I think also called MAF). I have heard these are more for the speed density engines. If it will be large enough for the maf I can make it a true ram air. Bwahaha!!

You can switch to speed density, just specify SD tune when you have your pcm tuned

When you have your PCM tuned have the MAF deleted and run it in speed density mode.

Is it really that easy? Once I have it tuned to SD I can just change to a ram air style filter? even with a cam and roller rocker upgrade?

Re: LT1 MAF routing issues
You may lose a few benefits if you lose the MAF. I think mileage is the big one. Look into using the 95 LT1 corvette intake bellow for the ram air box, that may be your best shot of getting the MAF to work with the ram air. The vette bellow goes straight out from the throttle body (not 90 to the side like the f-body elbow) and has a hole in it to hold the IAT sensor.

NOW......if you choose not to delete the maf you can use the cheaper Ls1 boot from the Throttle body to maf then use a small coupler to a ram air box then instal the IAT into the box.....

Re: LT1 MAF routing issues
ok, well I am going to keep the MAF and an installing a RAM air kit. I'll MacGuyver it in there if I have to. I kinda like the thought of having a functional RAM air hood and a beast beneath it to boot.
