Cable speedo with 4L60E

Doing an LT1 with 4L60E swap and have a cable speedo, how do you get the speedo to work?

Thanks

You will need to replace the tail housing of the tranny from a electric output sensor to a mechanical output shaft.

Re: Cable speedo with 4L60E

Thanks, i pulled the housing of my 700R4 to put on the 4L60E, the 4L60E has a metal straight gear that the sensor reads off of i guess while the 700R4 has a plastic gear that the gears go on an angle, do those need swapped too?

Re: Cable speedo with 4L60E

the ecm needs that VSS signal to make the trans shift properly, tell it when to lock up the toque converter, and trim the timing and air/fuel mixture for better fuel economy... you can get a box from somewhere that takes the vss signal or the speedo output from the ecm and drives a mechanical speedometer...

You would need something like this to make it work with your particular LT1 4L60E:

Reluctor ring adapter

They also have a housing that connects to the VSS for the trans shift points.
