Temp sensor in ls3 engine

Temp sensor in ls3 engine
For you guys that swapped in Ls engines. What temp sensor are you running in the cylinder head to read on the factory gauge. The head is metric threads, and with my engine already in and runnimg, I am not drilling and tapping a head or rethreading the hole with the sensor being at the back of the passenger head.
I bought a sensor with metric threads that's a one wire hook up and it only works very very rarely. So that's no good.
If there's nothing I can buy for that, what aftermarket gauge for a pillar pod can I get that would have the metric threads to screw into the head?

Buy a temp sensor for a 98 Trans Am.
It will replace both the factory ECM sensor & also provide an additional lead for the factory gauge. You will need the 3 prong connector for it also.

Re: Temp sensor in ls3 engine
Can this ls1 sensor be ran just for the factory gauge than?
I already have the factory ls3 temp sensor in the drivers side head and is connected (and working correctly) to my stand alone engine controller kit. So I don't wanna start messing with that stand alone harness if I don't have to.

Also, where can I get this sensor with the pigtail? Is this a three or two wire pigtail?
Can I run one wire off of it to the factory gauge and a wire off it to an Autometer short sweep temp gauge that I will be installing in my pillar?
I want the accuracy of the Autometer gauge, but I still want all my factory gauges to work as well. Unless I am asking too much by doin this
