5.3 vortec with T-5
I'm swapping a 2001 5.3l vortec into my 87 camaro. I'm currently running a T-5 with a 13in. flywheel, the flex-plate I took off of the 5.3 is 14in. and does not quite fit into the bellhousing. I'm wondering if any of you know if I can just run the 13in. flywheel and the factory starter will for fine or if i need to get a different flywheel and bellhousing.

Your 87 flywheel will not work with the 5.3.
Look at the swap threads to see what flywheel and adapters you'll need.
That said, I have never seen anyone mate an LS to a T-5. As you know t-5s are pretty weak as it is, and most people swapping to an LS go with an LS based T-56.

You'll need a Lakewood bellhousing, or equivalent, to mate the T5 to the LS and retain the 3rd gen hydraulics. Pocket is doing a T5 to an LS but using the 4th gen hydraulics and a 621 bellhousing
I have the Lakewood and I had to grind the inside of the bell to clearance for the bolts on the rear cover to the LS, top 4 I think.

While a starter for the smaller flywheel IS available for LSx engines, it is over $800. Get a new bell and use a LS1 clutch
If you're going to bang on it at all, go with a T56
