ok, heres the deal...I have a 92 Camaro RS 3.1L manual trans, non posi and drum brakes.
I got a hold of a 94 Z28 LT1 and t56, harness and computer, also i bought a differential out of a 98 WS6 it has 3.73 and obviously the disc brakes.
I managed to drop in the engine using the motor mounts out of a 305,the transmission i had to use a Spohn performance cross member. installed the hydraulic clutch slave, used the 3 gen pedals (please let me know if this would be an issue) i bought a 94 radiator and dual fan setup, everything is in as of now fluid everything is good, i have functional e brake, my clutch actually feels good, i installed a stage 3 clutch and installed a aftermarket throttle cable, full length headman headers for a 92 camaro with 3 inch pipe and flowmaster outlaws mufflers , i basically think i have all done, except the wiring...
i follow a thread about combining the c100 with the rest of the lt1 harness, apperently i dont need the other half of the harness just the stand alone right?
im actually going to run separate relays and switches for the fans, the fuel pump im trying to have the pcm run it, i deleted the smog pump. im not worried about the cluster working, im making a custom one all i want is for it to start...if anyone can help me figure out the wiring, and by helping i dont mean direct me to a sticky or other thread, i get more confused as i read them i would really appreciate it, btw i dont have a under hood fuse box nor have i splice anything to my under dash fuse box
i only had the wires that go to thw c100 connector spliced plz help!!

What exactly are you looking for? Do you have a specific question or in general? The threads are designed to cover the general process and hammer out common specific questions
well im not sure if im doing the wiring right, all i did was combine the c100 connector to the lt1 harness, just the engine part, i dont have the under hood fuse box, wish idk if ill need, im still using the stock accesories harness out of my 92, i guess the question is do i need that box?
i didnt splice any wires to the dash or diagnostic port just the c100 wires, would that be enough for it to start? i cant find the thread i was following so im stuck i was able to mate most of the wires red tick wires constant 12v , orange constant 12v with fuse, and pick to cranking 12 v right?
and the starter purple to ignition, does it sound about right?

The lt1 fuse box is not required. What did you do for the c207 near the old ECM? It houses 3 critical fuses, mil and speedo
Basically all you did was connect same color wires at the c100? Technically that will work but it throws ALL fused protection out the window

You need the 4th gen clutch pedal. If you use the 3rd gen one it will work but the friction point will be right at the top of the pedal and uncomfortable. Pedal swap is straight forward. I recall cutting the gas pedal off for some reason. I think one has the whole set together and the other is in 2 pieces.. but either way, the various switches on the brake and clutch are interchangeable. Again I forget if they are exactly the same but if not, it's just a matter of changing them. The only difference might be the plugs.

as for the wiring, when I did mine (89 TA 305tpi to 94LT1) I first laid the old harness out and began picking out the wires that must not be cut (2 10ga orange power wires that run your fuse box, purple wire that goes to starter and others. Whne I was done I had a bunch of wires staying and a bunch to be cut off (to splice to new engine harness). I labeled these and didn't cut them off until I was ready to solder them.
I put the LT1 harness on the motor and routed it when I would like and then 1 by 1 cut and spliced them. I used the good heat shrink with the glue and also taped over them. I staggered by splices so I didn't have a big bulge in the harness at the firewall.
You will be able to wire up all your gauges so I would until you decide to tackle the other project of a custom dash.
There are also a group of wires under the pass side dash that you will need to splice to the PCM. My PCM is under the hood so I made a small harness for these.
BEFORE I started anything I had a print off of my wiring harness (used online resources and a CHilton and Haynes Manual) .. I also had a print off of a '95 harness with all the pin outs for the PCM.

^ for the LT1
The wiring wasn't a big deal. Just take it one wire at a time and don't guess.
When you are all done the car WILL NOT start. You need to tune the PCM to remove the VATS from it (also a few other things to prevent a check engine light)

oh and solder everything and DO NOT use butt connectors or any other type of crimp connector to join your wires together. and do not twist the wires togetherlike you would a wire in your house. You want to slip the heat shink over one side and push it back, then twist the wires together so when you're done it looks like 1 wire... If you haven't soldered, youtube it. It's very easy and well worth it. unless you enjoy random quirky wiring problems 6 months down the road

and you don't need fan switches etc if you don't want them. Once you're in the PCM you can set the parameters of the fans.

so I should take the PCM to my local tuner and have him remove the VATS, qnd by any chance the "other stuff" is the egr and evap?
is the c207 from the original harness?
and yes Pocket thats all i did, so assuming i did it right and i tune out the vats it should start?

tune out the vats and it should start, to keep the check engine off you need to delete the AC stuff and the smog stuff.
When I did mine I used tunercat and ordered a cable. I was able to uncheck everything I knew was missing and got the check engine to go out. Honestly it was 10 years ago now. (still running great) ..
If you take the computer to someone have them set your tire size, that will be the next issue. albeit minor.

ok so i tuned the vats out emission and stuff and plus the guy put a small tune in it for added performance for 125, so if anybody is in las vegas area Hot rods and Horsepower is the way to go
Thanks for replying to my thread, what should I splice from the lt1 onto tge C207?
Depends on the year of your car- My 87 Iroc has a bunch of stuff coming from the C207 and the C221 (both are under the dash on the passenger side) The chiltons manual is a lifesaver here- I ended up on my back with a meter figuring out which wires went to what fuses and dash lights. It took a few hours but was well worth it at the end. Bring a notebook out and write it all down.
Look at LT1swap.com He has a great layout of PCM outputs that need to be connected. It takes some doing, and some thinking, but trust me, if you stare at it long enough it will make sense. Between that site, and the info here in the LT1 wiring stickies, you will have it running right quick.
And you dont necessarily need the 4th gen clutch pedal- I cut about an inch out of the master cylinder rod, threaded it both sides and then used a long hex nut to reattach them. There is a thread on it somewhere, if I can find ill link you to it.

When I did my swap I made a binder and I have my notes plus all the wiring. I figured if anything ever messed up I would need it. Almost 10years later and knock on wood I haven't had any wiring failure

ok so i did everything, i tune the vats out i hooked everything, it cranks but it wont start, can someone give me a diagram of how to combine the lt1 harness with the c100 from my camaro, idk if i did it right

when you turn the key to run do you hear the fuel pump come on for a second?
are all your sensors plugged in? .. water temps and air temps are the important ones. IAT is often missed and can cause crank no start or hard to start.
do you have spark on a plug wire?

If you didn't get your car running and you're thinking it's wiring, PM me with what you're sketchy on and I'll cross reference it. A lot of the wires that require splicing at the driver side bulkhead are dash gauges but one biggie is the fuel pump.
Your C207 on the pass side (access from laying on floor looking up) has a bunch there too

ok so idk if anybody still reading this thread but just in case the car is running now i want to thank thrim for helping me, now its time to register it and drive it around

What wires did you have that ended up needing connected? Glad you got it running bro! Hoping to get mine up as soon as the can is in and heads are done being ported.Originally Posted by VictorWeirich
