Fuel Lines:
3rd gen hardline used from the engine bay to tee fitting. Tee fitting rearward is 4th gen lines, and custom nylon braided line.
Stock 3rd gen hardline, connects to tee fitting. From there the ls1’s return line, and fuel filter/feed line. A short line was needed to connect the plastic feed line coming off the tank, to where the fuel filter is located.

Re: 4th gen tank help
If you are dumping EVAP and already have one vent line then cap #4
You need to have a regulator in the tank to use the tee fitting system shown. 99+ V8 cars did, Im not sure about the 98 steel tank. Pull the sender and look
If it doesnt have a regulator, use the C5 filter/regulator

According to that, 98's had an intank regulator, so use the tee style fuel lines
Remember, all fbody ls1s were returnless systems, v6's we're return style. If the tank was from a v6, the regulator will not be there and the C5 filter/regulator is required
Also, the neck is longer for 4th gen tanks. Not a problem on plastic tanks, just trim the rubber hose. Steel tanks require splicing the neck

Re: 4th gen tank help
Don't mean to hijack this thread, but since we are talking about pressure regulators. Just a curious question, is it possible to use the stock FPR on a TPI with these tanks??

Re: 4th gen tank help
I was gonna use the 98 metal tank from my donor car but I did not want to deal with the metal filler neck. I used the 99 plastic tank. Much easier.
Re: 4th gen tank help
A removable neck makes removal/install of the tank hours easier
Lower axle to full droop, pull both pan hard bars, out she comes. To add insult to injury, the fuel line connections are on top, so cutting the access hole is acceptable. It also has a much larger hole for the sender, so multiple pumps fit without divine intervention
Twin pumps in a 3rd gen tank are a feat
