I have an LQ4 truck engine and am only going to run an alternator + waterpump.

1. Can I switch to an f-body waterpump and the stock balancer for the serpentine belt will still line up?
2. Is there a low mount alt bracket that will clear the steering shaft? Do I need a idler pulley also?

A few things:

Truck spacing and Fbody spacing are different. To use a Fbody low mount alt/bracket, you need to space it off the block 3/4". Next, the iron block will NOT have two of the three holes for the bracket. One boss is present, but undrilled, the other is missing completely. It will mount properly with two bolts

Fbody WP makes life easier with the waterneck location more-so than pulley depth. An alternative is to use a 5th gen camaro WP and C6 upper rad hose to keep the truck pulley spacing

To delete PS, simply switch the smooth idler for a ribbed pulley on the Fbody bracket and run a shorter belt. The bracket is so simple a flat plate and two threaded rods will do the same job
