How low does a muscle car pan sit? Here ya go.

I am running skinnies, 26" I believe. My car sits like a 4x4 for now since I have a mock-up TH400 (gutted it). The springs I have are Moroso 47210-710 which I think I need weaker springs to lower it a little bit since I wont be going off-roading.

The oil pan is the lowest part. Even though the pan is $169, its not worth the hassle.

Especially not when the truck pan can be had for free, and modified adequately for under $ 50. Including paying for welding.

as soon as I get done with fabbing up the turbo kit, I'll yank the engine and spend the $ for the right pan.

That's a complete loss of engine oil just waiting to happen.

Re: How low does a muscle car pan sit? Here ya go.

A guy on NastyZ28 used the CTS pan in his car, 2nd gen, and went over a raised manhole and it ripped the bottom of the pan off and the CTS pan doesn't even hang as low as that one

They really should stop marketing that "Muscle car" pan for retrofits.

It works great for muscles cars such as first gens, chevelles, tri fives etc that commonly get swapped

3rd gens would fall into "late model"s if anything. Besides, we have an inexpensive pan kit that works perfectly already (fbody). Quit griping

Too low for the Chevelle and the 1st gen too. It FITS, but it is not ideal, still hangs below the crossmember

It should fit for my other 4.8 into my '87 S-10, if I ever get that far. That qualifies as a retrofit.
