I started this thread after reading all 4 pages of the thread on this same topic but several questions still need to be answered. The older thread was started many years ago and I'm sure many of the guys have moved on to other things. So here it goes. My project is an engine swap, donor car is a 95 Chevy Caprice LT1 and my car is a 83 Camaro that had a 305 4BBL 5 speed. If you want you can follow my swap on this forum.

I bought a 2002 Trans Am plastic fuel tank complete with hoses, evap, wiring and fuel pump.

I will be using the 95 PCM to run the engine.

The lines coming out of the fuel pump are marked, Vent, return and pressure. the vent is routed to the evap system and then out to another line. All the lines have what appears to be quick connect fittings on them.

Question 1. what is the preferred way to make a connection to the hard lines running to the front of the engine?

Question 2. My 95 PCM has evap provisions for "evap canister purge solenoid valve control" and there is a "serial data" Will these functions run the 2002 evap? Will I still need to run a gen 4 fuel gauge?

Question 3. I only have 2 wires coming out of the old fuel tank and they must be for the sending unit. I, therefore, must run a new wire from the fuel pump to the fuel pump relay up front. Any preferred way of doing this?

Question 4. Do I need the gen 4 fuel gauge to get any fuel readings? Or how can I get my gen 3 gauge to work?

Question 5. The gen 4 tank has the fuel pressure regulator in the tank on the return line. My LT1 has the fuel pressure regulator on the return portion of the fuel rail. Which one should I use? If I chose the one on the fuel rail, how do I remove the regulator in the tank? If I chose the one in the tank, how do I remove the one on the fuel rail and how to plug it?

Stock wiring runs through a hole in the center behind the rear seat backs, and then down the passenger side under the carpet. I went stock routing, make sure you loom it to protect from chaffing.
There is a thread on making the fuel gauge in the 3rd gen work, the answer is in there. The common way of doing it is taking the sending unit out and making another one work, I believe they used one out of a late 90s grand prix but don't quote me on that. The part number is in that thread.

In my opinion, I would us the FPR on the fuel rail and take the one out of the 4th gen tank (you will have to pull the pump out anyways to do the sending unit mod).
I used braided line and AN hardware for my fuel system, it's easy to route, you know you have all new parts for your fuel system and it looks good. Assembling the hoses isn't that tricky once you've done a few.

Thanks, I guess I'll do a little more reading. The thread I just finished was over 4 pages long and had several links that I guess I need to go back and check out.
