DBW and cruise

Apologies if this has been covered, but I searched and couldnt find a definitive reference on this. This thread was the most useful:
https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/elec...ml#post5936699

Trying to do some of the smaller stuff on my swap and tackling cruise now. I think I have this 75% right -- based on Pocket's post in the above thread and this article:
http://www.lsenginediy.com/gm-gen-ii...uipment-guide/

Wire (bypassing the existing cruise module):
C209 -> TAC
On/off: Gray -> Gray (14)
Set/coast: Dark Blue -> Dark Blue (4)
Resume/accel: Gray/black -> Gray/black (5)

I dont know where to wire the brake input (red-ish) from the C209 to the TAC though. As always, help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Chuck

Re: DBW and cruise

There are three methods for cruise. Use the factory cruise unit (vacuum) or a junkyard GM digital (non-vacuum) unit. Or an aftermarket unit (non-vacuum). I'm assuming you will (try) use the factory unit.

Iirc something in the cruise (CTSV) was looking for a uart signal.

May help

Re: DBW and cruise

Get the cruise control schematic for the 1991 Camaro RS you own and the same for the vehicle the engine came from , you will wire directly from the switch on the column to the TAC unit the wires in each schematic should be labeled about the same. I am away form the house right now when I get home I will look at my notes and give you better info on the brake wire. I did this on my 92 Convert with a LQ4 from a 2003 2500HD truck and it works great, much easier than I thought it would be. This may help too http://www.lt1swap.com/dbw.htm

Re: DBW and cruise

90-92 3rd gen cruise
http://www.austinthirdgen.org/mkport...se_control.jpg

And stop light for the second brake wire. Cant remember is DBW systems need both, anyways here it is

The C209 Red wire is the 2000ppm signal from the old ECM or buffer box. Not used in DBW or DBC cruise conversions
