My mismatched socks would say otherwise LOL! I'll take it as a compliment especially since you have seen my car on many occasions in person. Good luck racing tonight Tim!

What wiring?!!! Is what I hope people will say lol. I have ideas on what to do with that all, but making it a reality might be another thing. That will hopefully be a next week project.

I hadn't seen your build thread, I rarely check this LS section. It looks great. I was wondering what compound you used for the engine bay, what grit you decided to wet sand up to and how/what equipment you used to polish it? Old style liquid sandpaper compound or something like the newer perfect it line? Did you wet sand by hand or use the 6" Trizact 3M stuff? Really looks great. I was thinking of using the little 3" pads on mine.

Thank you! I color sanded between clear to 2k, and wet sanded the clear to 5k before polishing. Basically you could have spit on it and it would have shined lol. I didn't sand and polish the clear in all areas. Due access of getting a polisher in there, or just not a visible enough area to put the effort into it. I used my old stand by Porter Cable polisher with a 6" microfiber pad, and used Adams 2 step polish. In a few areas I used my Groits Garage 3" mini RA polisher with orange foam cutting pad with the same compounds. In the areas that neither polisher would fit I polished by hand. There is a couple spots I want to polish a lil further after I get out from under my timeline.

I welded the firewall seam to just behind the wiper motor, and stopped... so only like 4" from my plate. The passenger side frame rail I did weld up and smooth, but I didn't take it all the way down as you did. The drivers side I didn't mess with as steering shaft, brake lines, and headers don't allow you much space to show off all the addition work, so I just didn't do it haha!
Re: BADNBLK's 91 Z28 LS1 swap... Engine + much more :)
Its been 10 years since I repainted the bottom of the car, and there was a few scratches and such from previous work in the last 10 years. So I rattle canned the transmission tunnel area again while the transmission was out. You'll see why I spent that time soon.
Next I broke out the Heatshield Products heat barrier. I consistently felt like there was a large amount of heat coming from the transmission tunnel, so this may help keep it on the outside, which will be much more important now with no HVAC.
The install is simple as cutting the shape and peeling the self adhesive backing off and rolling it on.
Billet AN line clamps... eh I was taking pictures lol
Re: BADNBLK's 91 Z28 LS1 swap... Engine + much more :)
Next project was getting the LS7 clutch and T56 transmission installed... which I didn't take much for pics, but you can see it in the pics with the
Hooker Blackheart True dual stainless exhaust system!!!!! I gotta say I opened the box initially and said "wow there is a lot of pieces" but all of those pieces came together to be the most well thought out, and best fitting exhaust system I have ever seen for our cars. I could not be happier with the money spent on this system and I haven't even heard it yet! I'm still not sold on the exhaust tips, and I have a plan with those, but it will be a while before I mess with those.
Anyway.... Here is the pics!
I'll take better pics of the tips when its on the ground.
Got some other little stuff done as well, but didn't take much for pics of that stuff.

Darn right about that heat from the transmission tunnel! I was leaning towards only covering the cabin side of the transmission tunnel, are you doing both sides or only that side?
Are your frame connectors a home brew?
Does the Black heart exhaust work only with a transmember made with the dual exhaust notches?

At this point on the exterior of the car, but at somepoint in the near future I'm gonna replace my carpet again, and I might add better insulation near the tunnel area. My floors and etc area Dyno-matted.
People are adapting the exhaust to other headers and mounts, so I'm sure it can be done, but not bolt in like this was. Worth it though....

Even with the dyno mat you had lots of heat?
I used the Hooker Blackheart crossmember designed for the LS swap.
Yes, not LOTS!!!! but more than I'd like. Dyno-mat is just rubberized asphalt with tinfoil on one side, not a heat barrier, just an additional layer to get hot.

The most important thing with projects like this (other than having funds to do it) ... is to push yourself to make progress little by little. The more you start to see it come together, the more motivating it is to finish it.

updated list
Guess what?! It runs!!! I'll post a couple videos in a few. Uploaded a custom tune, and we can't get it to idle. Turns out my IAC isn't sealing... Not sure why, but it was late, and I need a couple hours of sleep before work.
Re: BADNBLK's 91 Z28 LS1 swap... Engine + much more :)
^^ Check O ring ?
Also is the MAF tuned for the dual snorkel? I remember reading that it is tough to tune when your running multiple air filters, but really that's the only detail I remember.
Grats breh, your gonna make it.

I actually am pretty sure it will be the o-ring, and already suspected the seal there, but it was too late to mess with it. Hopefully during my lunch break. The maf is not tuned specifically for 2 pipes, as it only in one, but is set up for this? (or close? for the 4" tube). Not me building the base tune. I read and spoke with others and using an air straightner helped immensely, which I did install pre-maf.
Re: BADNBLK's 91 Z28 LS1 swap... Engine + much more :)
So IAC seal o-ring was garbage, but the IAC still didn't operate correctly, so it now has a new one, and will idle on its own after a little coaxing. We got some tuning work to do.
I spent most of Sunday finishing up some basic wiring, vacuum hose connections, Brake lines for the Wilwood master, bleeding the hydraulic fluids, rear axle seals, and putting the body back together, and some interior re-assembly.
I UNWRAPPED IT!!!!!! I think it looks freaking mean, and I'm really happy with how it turned out.
I put the nose together on the ground
With the fenders and nose on... (still have final alignment of panels to do)
Good look at my Skinnyboy Lighting QUAD projector mini D2S Square headlight set up... Still need wire them up

I'm blushing lol! I can't lie and say that having the shop made things much easier for access to parts and tools, but this was my first rodeo doing anything to this level at all!
