i have a green wire from my painless harness I found output buffer box do I hook vss wire from painless harness to the green wire on buffer box for speedo to work

im in the same boat as you. i read somewhere that we can buy an adapter of some sort to hook it to the vss.

 

calmhotrod, you 89 bird has an electric speedo. Find the dash side C207, pin K BRN. Splice the painless speedo wire here. Find the buffer box right above it and unplug it. Jump pins C&F. Done

marcia, your 86 camaro will have a mechanical speedo, so there is an extra part needed to convert the electric signal into mechanical motion. I recommend the cable-X box, simple three wire hookup. Power, ground signal
