Fuel line questions

I'm trying to figure out the best way to get fuel to my engine. I'm running the ls1 intake and rail. I've got the vette filter and I'd like to mount it where the factory third gen filter is located.

What i would like to do is mate a plastic quick connect piece to the factory metal line so the filter pops on and off just like the vette does from the factory. Has anyone done this?

I don't mind using adapter fittings if it's easier or cheaper but I don't have a clue what I'd need.

I also need to figure out how to get from the under hood supply line to the rail.

BPR hotrods sells a kit that does exactly this. It's $400 but is plug and play and comes with the Corvette filter.

Re: Fuel line questions

$400 is way too high. I already have the filter.

Re: Fuel line questions

I'm thinking I can cut and flare the factory hard line and use the quick connect repair lines and come out way cheaper. I guess we'll see, that's what I'm trying anyway.

Re: Fuel line questions

Finding info on fittings must be like a secret or something. By far the hardest info to find imo. Whatever you, do post up some pics with what you used when you're done.

Re: Fuel line questions

This is what I did on my LT1 install. All Russell fittings. Filter is a wix 33484. Of course I ran all new hard lines but you should be able to splice the existing lines.

Everybody has their own spin on it. This is mine with 4th gen fuel tank and LS1 F-body fuel filter. Post #292, https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/ltx-...ml#post5910529

This is what it looks like. Yours will be different since you'll probably use the Corvette fuel filter but this gives you ideas what can be done. No need to have soft line down by the road under the car if you take time to shape some fuel lines.

The link I provided above has examples of about any fitting you would need. You'll need to cut off the end of the 3/8" fuel line and flare it with a 37 degree cone flare and fit it with Russell part numbers 660575 and 660655. This will give you a -6AN female threaded connection on the end of the fuel line. Then you can screw on a quick connect fitting Russell part number 644123.

The 5/16" return line is same idea but you'll need to go to the Russell website to figure out the part numbers.

Re: Fuel line questions

I ended up with vette filter and new russel fuel line with russel fittings going to the engine.

Pre filter is just flared factory hard line with clamped on rubber fuel injection hose to filter for right now.
