‘84 Z28 LS swap clearance issues

Hey Guys, I’m doing my first LS Swap into a 3rd Gen and having fitment issues and was hoping someone could spare some advice and helpful tips for me. First off I have a LM7 5.3 from a Silverado I’m using. Don’t worry I will be changing the oil pan soon but for now I’m using the truck pan just for mocking up. The problem I’m having is when I lower the engine into place it’s literally sitting on the crossmember and tie rod and no where close to lining up to mount. I’m using Transdapt 4592 ls Swap mounts on the block and transdapt sbc solid motor mounts. If anyone has any advice on how I can modify what I have already that’d be great or just advice on better mounts that’ll raise it up to clear.

thanks

Well, just read the reviews...

i don’t know for sure but it doesn’t look like these are 1” set back. I used cheap 1” set back eBay adapter plates and factory replacement motor mounts and mine fits fine.

Like you said early in you post, you will be changing the oil pan. It would be better to change the pan, then do your mocking. The pans recommended all deal with the crossmember and tie rods.

Those mounts state they move things forward an inch..whereas our cars need it set back about an inch.1 inch might not sound like alot but when it comes to clearance can turn things from painless install..to painful and expensive. beside..if you are mocking up the motor for fitment then the intended oil pan should be part of the initial mockup or your just wasting time because if the mounts were the correct position..you still will sit on the pan and have issues and nothing can be mocked up from there regardless and the motor is coming right back out.

Solid engine mounts are dumb and just make things harder.

Spohn has stands on the frame that work with the rubber 98-02 Camaro mounts on the engine. Go for those.
