Crate LS3 HO and 4l60e Conversion Iroc Z Build Thread
Back Story
The owner bought it new off the lot. He drove the car for years, than let his son drive it through high school. After high school it was returned back to the father. Now the father is nearing retirement, and he wants his IROC-Z to drive brand new again.
Goal:
The car has to drive like a brand new vehicle. It has to be dependable, and put out good power. Something that can be daily driven without any "hot rod" issues. Heat and AC have to work. So we are going to go with a Vintage Air system to meet that requirement.

Original Engine
Engine Removed
New Crate LS3 placed in the engine bay. The engine bay is always repainted with our LS conversions. Doesn't make sense to have a nice pretty engine, in an old engine bay.
In these pictures the motor is sitting higher, because we were waiting on the proper motor mounts.
Freshly Painted engine bay
Motor Mounts installed, and first part of the accessory drive installed!
AC Compressor Installed. Now its time to actually finish the fire wall plate, and run the AC hoses through the fire wall. Also the tons of little stuff, like radiator mounts, AC condenser, belt, etc.
More to come!
