LS swap no throttle

Here's what I've got, LS2/T56 from a 2005 GTO, SpearTech harness and re-flashed E40 ECM to 2005 TBSS/SRR tune for cruise control, and a Lokar DBW pedal for a TBSS/SRR. The problem is that I have no throttle, it starts and idles, but immediately goes into limp mode and gives a DTC P2138 APP1 voltage not correlating. All of the wiring checks out as wells as all of the proper functions (volts, grounds, and signals) for the pedal, TB, and ECM. Lokar and SpearTech have tried to help, but have for the most part given up on me. Both have suggested that I get an original TBSS pedal and see if it works, which is on it's way and the GTO pedal doesn't work at all. Now for my question to everyone here, does anyone know for certain what the APP1 and APP2 signals are suppose to be? The voltage and sweep that I have measured are as follows; 0.9v at rest, 4.2v at WOT, this is for both signals. I have found that GM used different values and sweeps for every varying models and years (different voltage per signal and opposing vs parallel sweep for each signal). A pinout diagram of a TBSS pedal connecter would also be helpful. Any help would be greatly appreciated, Thanks.

Re: LS swap no throttle

My harness from Speartech may have been defective. My installer couldn’t get the engine to start. I supplied all the parts including a programmed ECM. The ECM worked on another car in the shop with a 58x setup. But, I sent the harness and ECM to Speartech for review. They said the problem was the ECM tune (I didn’t use Speartech for the E38 ECM). But, some of the harness wires were marked with blue tape when I got it back. As if they found a problem with the harness. Would they fess up to it if that was the problem? I’ll never know.

Re: LS swap no throttle

No one has used the TBSS pedal or E40 tune on their swap?

Re: LS swap no throttle

I haven't used an E40 in any of my swaps, but some general thoughts

- How was the the re-flash done, ie by a full GM Tech 2 or similar? E38 / E67 need to be reflashed with a tech 2 or similar full flash if different pedal cals as HP Tuners / EFI live tuners do not flash the area that stores the separate pedal cal.
- Assume the GTO ECM service number is the same as the cal you are trying to use, ie that cal you are trying is really valid for the OS you are flashing?

I do not know for certain what SpearTech's process is for re-flashing an ECM, I do know that the original GTO pedal does not work because of the CC tune. The Lokar pedal is for a TBSS, but I do not know what if it functions the same as an original GM pedal (signal voltage and signal sweep). I have a genuine TBSS pedal on the way, but the connector on the harness end is missing and I can't find the proper pinout for that connector.

Re: LS swap no throttle

I received the SSR pedal that I had ordered and the good news is it works flawlessly, however I have now sent it and the Lokar pedal to Lokar to have the original cloned to the aftermarket pedal. They are "99.9% confident that it will work" when I get it back. Wish me luck.
