LT1 swap?

Has anybody on here swapped in an LT1? If so what does it take to do it?

https://www.hotrod.com/articles/swap...camaro-part-1/

There’s an article on hotrod about it. I considered this route with my Trans Am but the outcome didn’t seem worth the cost to me over a regular ls swap.

Take a look at the stickies above as well as through the various swap threads here. This swap has been done a million times.

I think he’s interested in a gen V Lt1 swap.

Re: LT1 swap?

Sorry is it LT-1 or LT1 these days. I meant the latest LT-1 Gen V. Been on here since 2003 I would dare not ask about a SBC LT1 with it having it's own section lol :-)

Again, I'm sorry. But yes there are a few on here and they present their own unique challenges. i cant think of the board member off hand that is doing one but you should find it with your searches.

LOL no problem. I just re-found this option searching the board. It might be the wisest option for me as I live in California should I ever decide to sell. I currently live in a county that doesn't require bi-annual smog so it wouldn't be a big deal to do whatever so long as it wasn't so loud that I got pulled over for the new decibel law lol.

Complete E-Rod is the way to go if you live in commy land. There is a good thread on here about smog legal swaps in CA that gives a lot of good first hand experience form guys trying to do the same thing. An LT swap might be too painful compaired to the E-Rod.

Re: LT1 swap?

There's just one person on this board that I know got it done and running. He didn't share much in his thread though, but it's in this section probably a couple pages back.

The sticky at this site is pure ****. Be sure to tell the moderator that too.
