LS1 cruise on 3rd gen swap

I have all the 4th gen parts with my LS1 that I could put into my 1990, but My LS1 has traction control. That's a no go, am I right?

However, I thought I'd read that a stand alone cruise module (no T/C) would integrate with my stock controls/cables. Would this part be what I need (see attached). Would this work? or not at all? Thanks.

You need one from a 98 fbody to be stand alone. The newer ones need to communicate with the bcm. I believe 99 and up silerados work too but the cable is short. I used a 98 fbody and the cable is long enough to be mounted underneath in front of drivers tire so its out of sight.

Thanks. Is it stand alone? Will I need to do any ECM programming for it or anything? (My ECM is from a 2000 Camaro with ASR).

98 fbody is the only year thats stand alone. If you do a search on here the diagram has been posted. Its super easy to do completely independent of the ecm. Just needs a vss input to function. I just took the ls ecm vss output and connected to both my speedometer and cruise and it worked fine.

Great info! Thanks a lot. I'll try to remember to report back in a few months when I've got everything put together.
