Gen 2 Lt1 in 92 camaro

Hello I am new to the forum. Lots of great info on here. Just a quick rundown of what I am planning. Long term goal is a 5.3 ls/t56 drivetrain, but I recently bought a complete 95 lt1/t56 car and am considering putting the lt1 in the car for now. Most of the info seems straight forward, my concern is the exhaust manifolds. Will the 4th gen manifolds bolt to the stock exhaust? Or do I put the 305 TBI manifolds on there? Or do I get headers for a 3rd gen. I’m sure I’ll have some other questions later, but if someone can point me in the right direction, or send me to a thread that would be great. Thanks in advance

For the love of everything that is holy do not put the 305 manifolds back on. A set of 1 3/4" small block headers will work just fine. I don't think the 1 5/8" units clear the D port exhaust ports.

lol, I figured the 305 manifolds were to small and was a last resort. Thanks for the info. This is most likely a temporary engine until I can build my 5.3. Just want something with more power than the 305

If you're going to do an LS swap, then just wait. Its too much work, and money, to put in an LT and then replace it again down the road.

I was thinking that too, but right now the interior is completely stripped, even have the heater box out. I have some floorboard repairs to do. And figured the lt1 swap may not be so bad since I can easily run the wiring inside the car. The mechanical stuff seems pretty straight forward. Was just thinking an LT would be for fun than the 305, at least for a year or two. If it is more complicated please someone let me know.
