vorteciroc health update
Hey, folks. @vorteciroc sent me a message last night about some events related to his health and asked that I share with the forum. He also asked that I tell people with open orders for harnesses and parts to please have a bit of patience, it will get done as promised, with just a little delay. (I asked him to not worry one bit about any of us, but to take care of himself right now!)
vorteciroc is easily recognize as one of the most generous, brilliant, and soft spoken persons ever on this site. A true gentleman! Here is part of the message he sent me. He seems to be in good spirits, but does need prayers.

This past week I have suffered yet another Brian Aneurysm, and series of Strokes.
This seems to be a reoccurring ordeal...
Fortunately thus far I have sustained little to no permanent Damage in regard to my faculties for daily living.

Every time this happens, it is more painful and debilitating than the last, however I always am fortunate to recover very quickly and close to 97.500% of the previous "Normal" Base-Line.
If you would be so kind as to notify the Message-Board somewhere of my condition, that my current Projects will have a small delay, but that everything will be 100% Completed as promised.

Woah, just saw this.
Yes, defintiely prayers for things to somehow head in a positive direction.
VortecIroc has posted a huge amount of detailed technical information and advice on my forum threads alone, let alone countless other people's posts. He is a much valued member here; truly I hope the seriousness of these episodes does not get worse. Prayers indeed.

Re: vorteciroc health update
I definitely Rant from time to time...
But not usually about My Own Health.

My Health has improved in all areas except for two.
I am still pushing myself to be optimistic...
However my concern is not really for myself at this point (whatever my future is, it is).

My concern is for my current Customers.

As everything else has been improving...
The ability to use/ feel my Left Hand/ Fingers has worsened and worsened (to the point it is now scaring me).
The Hand is useless/ unable to feel/ hold anything.
Second, I am experiencing a significant of Cognitive/ Intellectual Decline (the thought of loosing my Intellect is even more frightening to me).
I am excepting the fact that this time, I am finally not going to be relatively "Normal" Again.
I have had these Brain Aneurysm, and Strokes several times now and have previously come out okay.
I see now that my luck has run out here.
I have two Customers currently with the Majority of their corresponding Projects completed...
(I do not believe they are on the forum often enough to come across this... this Post is not for them regardless... this is simply a Rant... as I am losing it (so to speak) at the moment.
There are back-ordered Parts that still have not come in, and thus there is some additional work to complete for these Projects.
My main concern and reason for this Post, is that my Two customers are taken care of.

It is ironic that I gave my Customers all Parts at Whole-Sale Cost (Zero Profit for me).
I also did not charge them any Labor.
They are essentially getting 100% Free Work.
Something that I have always been happy to do... I love to give free help here too!
Okay... you are saying whats Ironic?
I need to hire someone to continue/ help me to continue to finish these Two Projects.
If I had made a Profit on these Projects, then I could have given said Profits to the Person that I hire as payment, to Finish the Projects.

LMAO! I even went over estimate on these Projects and have been paying out of pocket to keep them going.
All I wanted to do was something nice for a couple of Forum Members.
(They were not in need of help or anything, I just wanted to give back to our little community, the same way that many of you guys do).
But nah ...I had to be the nice guy.

So not only did I want to do something Free for some Members, I also ended up Purchasing some of the Parts myself...
And now I am going to also end up Paying for some of the Labor myself.
What a crazy world... the way that things work out sometimes!
No good deed goes unpunished or something like that! LOL!
If anyone actually read through this entire Post/ Rant...
YOU ARE A SAINT!

It is admirable that you are so committed to helping out your customers that you will do so, even at a personal loss to yourself. If I was closer, I would offer to do the labor just to learn more about wiring in general. The wealth of knowledge you possess is incredible.
I work in healthcare, and see people overcome many set backs from strokes. What i have learned is as we get older, we don't bounce back as quickly as we did when we were younger. Every time it takes more time and work to get back to where they were. The mental part of it is the hardest to overcome. If you accept defeat, you will never recover. Physical therapy is also mental therapy to an extent. It is a good way to measure progress. Just remember any progress is good progress. Even if it isn't as much as you want it to be. Going forward is always better than going backwards.
The hand might still come back around. The blood in your brain may not have been reabsorbed and is still pressing on the nerve or area of the brain it is attached too. There is no magic trick to make this happen.
I admire your resolve, and wish you all the best in your recovery. Just remember to breathe, take breaks and then move forward.
