Hey guys I’m swapping in a 5.3 with a 4L60e in my 89 with a 9 bolt stock rear end and my driveshaft seems to be about an inch too long. Anyone run into this before? I’m using the hawks lsx motor and trans mounts. I don’t get it
I had to shorten my LS1 driveshaft by 2 inches. However, I am running the non F-Body tremec magnum. It is not uncommon to have to do this.
thanks. Usually this is not an issue with an F body 4L60e but I do have the 9 bolt rear so I’m wondering if that’s my issue. Might have to look into shortening the shaft
It's hard to tell from the pictures, but it looks like your motor mounts are on the wrong side.
This will move the engine back from where it should be.
See how the longer part of the mount insert is towards the rear.
Verify that your mounts are different side to side...
I have been looking for a better photo, but mine appear to be opposite of yours with the extended length side facing the rear.
This would move your engine forward if this is the case.
