UMI or Holley engine mounts?

Right off the bat, I'm going to admit that I'm splitting hairs here. I'm sure that either one of these will work great for me.

I'm looking at these UMI mounts: 2329 – 1998-2002 GM F-Body Engine Mounts, LS, Poly

For the exact same price, I could get the Holley/Hooker clamshell mounts from Hawks: 1998-2002 Camaro Firebird LS1 Polyurethane Engine Motor Mount Kit Red, Hooker Blackheart

I used the Holley/Hooker clamshell mounts for my LS376/480. Tremec T56 Magnum swapped,1991 Foxbody Mustang coupe. I have no complaints. On the other hand, I'm sure the Holley/Hooker metal stuff is made offshore (poly is probably USA) and the UMI stuff is USA made.

Can anyone share their experience with the UMI mounts?

Earlier today, I tried ordering the UMI mounts along with their 2407 Road Race K member and 3032 delrin bushed control arms. Had credit card "fraud" issues and then when I got that resolved with my CC company, the UMI website still wouldn't process the order. I can't reach anyone on the phone at UMI because most of them are at a car show. I'll have to wait until Monday, 23 June, so I have time to post this not very important question and get some thoughts.

I would go with the Holley mounts, because they have more insulation material, and won't transmit as much vibration to the body.

What's your intended purpose for the car?

dixie, thank you for your thoughts.

The car is going to be a street car with good capabilities but probably rarely, if ever, tracked. Holley Dominator controlled LS7/570 with a Tremec T56 Magnum F. I'm using the aforementioned UMI Road Race K member and delrin control arms (3032) along with UMI weight jacks (850lb.) I already have UMI 2409 motor mounts and their caster/Camber plates (2040.)

Re: UMI or Holley engine mounts?

Word of caution that the holley LS mounts do not work with the UMI RR K-Member. I ended up using the solid UMI mounts which work quite well.

I should've come back into this thread yesterday to update it. I called UMI yesterday and was told that my online order on Friday, 20 June 25, did go through. In the order, I had the UMI 2329, poly bushed LS motor mounts. A big order with a lot of purty red UMI parts is on the way to me.

You'll be happy. The Holley mounts also move the engine forward a tickle which can make transmission alignment in the crossmember tricky.
