Headlights from other cars to replace stock ones?
Headlights from other cars to replace stock ones?
I saw in a picture at a car show somebody swapped the headlights (with some minor adjustments) with headlights from a 1990 Grand Prix. Personally, I think they look much better:

I was just wondering though, are there any other headlights of other cars of that size/dimensions (that you could use to replace the stock ones)?
And while I'm asking, are there any taillights from any car that you can use to replace the stock ones?

Looks to me like Beretta headlights would fit also, however I'd keep the stock camaro ones!

Re: Headlights from other cars to replace stock ones?
DBL I was just reading your sig and saw you're putting a 283 into a Datson 280, just curious why a 283? Thats kind of different, I've heard of people putting 350's and strokers into em and such but never a 283, just curious why you're goin with the 283 is it just because you had it sitting around? Wouldn't the heads lack accessory holes and such? I know this question is really off topic but I'm just really curious.. don't wanna jack this thread so pm me or something with more details if you would

I'll just add that those lights in those pics are '90-'94 lumina headlights. Everything else I know that can fit have already been mentioned.
Re: Headlights from other cars to replace stock ones?
Are you Speaking of the hideous 86-89 300zx square headlights that look similar to the factory camaro ones? This Opens up alot of possibilities for aftermarket lights just ebay 86-89 300zx headlights and you'll see what i mean

It would be amazing if the mid 90's model 300zx's would fit, They do seem like a possibility...

Are there any molding/ mounting modifications required for these

those 300 zx headlights really don't seem like.. idk how to word it.. basically just go upgrade your stock headlights and go buy a set of clear headlight covers.. that's what it reminds me of.. honestly that's what i plan on doing to my 92 rs.. just instead of clear headlight covers get smoke ones, they should show through fine right?..

I love the stock headlights, I just like headlight covers over them. I'll be getitng some clear ones. Will give it that race car look. A lot of those GT cars have headlights aimed straight ahead, but they're molded into the car with glass covers over 'em.

See what I mean?
Our stock lights look great to me... although I'd upgrade to halogens or something.

seems to me the thing to do would be to get some projector housings off ebay for our cars? Then just get some D2S Ballasts and bulbs.

I have a pair of headlight housings from a '97 3-series BMW that I noticed had the right shape to them. When mocked up with a spare bumper cover, they fit well and looked really cool. They may be hard to mount and have them still be adjustable, and I'm a fan of the stock lights, so that's probably as far as that little project will get.

My bad, I don't know how I missed that part. I thought he was just referring to the ebay h4 set ups.

there was a beretta at the track that has BMW headlights on it, fellow member and good friend of mine (dj82z28) knows this guy who drives it, he said it was easy to fab up, and since it looks like from this post that a beretta headlight will fit a camaro with some mods i would guess that BMW one would, if anyone has done this to a camaro i would like to see it, it may or may not look good
personaly i think the silverstar sealed beams provide real good light, and i can see real far with them. if you did the harness upgrade it would be even better, and it would retain the stock look.........BTW people always think i got my high beams on with my silverstars in my camaro,

Re: Headlights from other cars to replace stock ones?
If you talking about the black projectors that you see on ebay, they are total crap. There is a thread on here about them and how crappy they are. I mean what do you really expect for $20 bux or whatever they cost?
