My First Iroc
Hey everyone, I wanted to post a few pictures of my first ever IrocZ, it's a 1985.
I first bought the car from an owner here on TGO actually! It needed quite a bit of work on the body seeing as how both fenders were dented and the rear driver's quarter panel was ruffled. Last winter I got to work on installing the new fenders and after that I had it painted stock colors. The tired 305 is still in there with 125,000 miles. But I'm looking to build a new 350 for the car by next winter in order to drop it in next summer. So, even tho I've still got to add marker lights and badging, how do you think she looks for a stock '85 iroc?

Looks good to me! Just get the IROC stripes and rocker emblems and you'll be set. How's the interior look?

Looks brand new! Did you paint it yourself?
Make sure to get some a high quality decal kit. I think phoenix graphics might make one, they have some really nice ones for the birds. Just please, no ebay knock-offs with the way-too-big size or wrong font.
Your car is begging to be lowered. It is a must! That, and maybe smoke the tails! Good luck!

YES I totally agree about lowering the car, all my pictures expose the wheel gap pretty badly!

Re: My First Iroc
That looks great. Put some tire dressing on it and it would really pop. About Maaco, it's not the paint job that gets people worried, it's the prep work. Most high volume shops git it done quick, hence the term "High Volume." thats how they make money. You'll know if you like them in a year, thats when stuff starts to peel away on the corners, or bubble up. Hopefully you're right and they did take their time to do it right. But then, I've had a $5000 paint job that I took back after 1 1/2 years for some work. I really like your car, good luck with it.

Re: My First Iroc
looks great! one thing i would suggest though is to get a few cans of undercoating and spray the wheel wells.. most people over look it, but i think some fresh black undercoating brings it all together.

Re: My First Iroc
Definitely put the silver/black stripes around the bottom and the decals on the doors ( like this, http://www.kwfbody.com/images/IROCZ%2010.jpg) . Once you do that she'll look showroom new.
(I used to have an '89 IROC the same color)
