How I spent My Summer Paychecks...
Hey guys, I have been a member for a while, but never really posted any pictures of my car. Its an Gray 86 Z28 that I have had since I was 16, and am now 21. This past year I started putting money into it, and I find that I cannot stop
. My major focus this summer was the interior.
It started out when I decided that I was tired of sitting in a drivers seat that would regularly rip holes in my shirt because of a piece of metal that was protruding through the back rest and smelled of sweat. The solution was a set of black leather 4th gen TA seats. I had always planned on replacing the carpet in my car, and figured I had best do it while I had the seats already out, so I purchased new ACC Premium (Essex) carpet with mass backing on ebay for $405 shipped to my door.
I was tired of my polished billet lecarra steering wheel on a daily driver (Very easily scratched), so I contacted Chuck Pelton and purchased one of his refinished Camaro wheels. I purchased a new horn button and floor mats from Modern Day Muscle (These guys are very quick to ship! Purchased Friday night, and received Monday morning!). I also purchased a new leather e-brake grip.
I have had a pile of parts sitting at the foot of my bed for a long time, and in that pile was a new console lid, so I finally put it in. Also in the pile was a new alpine deck (CDA-9885) and a humount adapter which lights up "CAMARO" with blue LEDs. This took some work to install. I had to deform the heating ducts on the center console to provide enough room for the radio and the radio trim panel had to be trimmed along the top.
Finally, I had been wanting to replace the door sills with stainless versions that completely replace the original sills. I few weeks ago, a member of thirdgen.org made a post saying that he could make them. He didn't have any pictures to show what they looked like, but I decided that I would trust the man with 1 post to his name and purchase a set. I am glad I did! they are beautiful! These don't replace the originals, but go over top. I was tired of breaking these and finding nice sets is getting harder, so I hop these last a long time!
Anyways here is a a couple pics, and I will post a few more when I get a chance! I have also purchase new door panels and the plastic piece that is attached to the top of the door panel, but have yet to install them (No time = full time college senior + working 30 hours a week).

Yea the ls1 will be sweet man. It's good to have interior taken care of though. Does it have any other performance work done yet?

Very nice! The TA seats look great in these cars (I have them in mine)! Where did you get the new e-brake handle from?

Thanks for the comments guys! I got the e-brake grip from a guy on ebay named dallassw. I think they take old grips and recover them with new leather. I think it looks great, and the leather and the stitching is really nice.

Nice clean interior. Dude, 4th gen T/A seats are the best! love the colour of it all.
where can i find inner door panels?
Have you ever considered white face overlays for your guages. I purchased some on ebay and they look not too bad... nice font, just like factory. But i also like your original guage look.
Nice job! money well spent.
(stop looking at the electrical tape on my steering wheel) lol.

Love the new wheel and looks very clean.
But in my honest opinion I Hate thoes shifters. And I dont like the t/a seats. I do but not in a camaro, 4th gen seats would be cooler imo. T/A parts stay with t/a's and same for camaro stuff with camaros.
GET PICS OF THE CAR!!
