Identify these rims

Guy wants 75 for whole set. They are corvette rims but do they have the same lug nut pattern as my third gen?

Re: Identify these rims

if you can get them for 75.00 w/decent tires its a fantastic deal, if they have no tires its still a good deal. Yes the bolt pattern is the same as on your third gen, however the backspacing is different. You will need spacers to run them just like 4th gen rims IIRC.

If I'm mistaken someone else please chime in.

Alright sweet. He said that he will throw his spacers in for free. The spacers are off a 1996 Camaro though. Would those work? If not what kind of spacers should I get? It's an 89 Vert 350 T-5 Drum brakes and I don't know what gearing though (RPO tag is gone). Also would this mess up my speedometer? If it would how would I fix that as well?

As long as the wheel/tire combo height is the same as your OE, the speedo will read correctly. If not, there is always the option of swapping out the driven gear on the tranny.

How can I determine what drive gear I am going to need?

Re: Identify these rims

OK...

#1 The wheels are off a 1997-1999 C5 Corvette (wagon wheels). Is the complete set the mix match like on the Corvette? 17 up front 18 in the rear?

#2 The spacer for the 1996 Camaro should NOT work because to run 4th gen (or Corvette) wheels on a 3rd gen you need a spacer. If this spacer is to be used on a 4th gen, then its wrong. Follow my logic?

#3 if the rear wheel is the 18", then you will have to have a mightly low profile tire to maintain the correct OE diameter.

It is a good price but I am not sure how they will look. Let us know...

1. Yes 17 Front 18 Rear
2. The thing that the guy called a spacer are just like big washers. I can take a picture if needed. What would you suggest that I needed?
3. Why do I need to keep OEM diameter? Can I just change the speedo drive gear and be good?

Also the guy couldn't find the second spacer so I got him to bring the price down to $50. I just got back. They are in pretty good condition. One wheel has minor curb rash and minor paint chips as well.

Re: Identify these rims

Are the actual OEM Corvette wheels, or Replicas?!

And to make them fit you will need a 2 1/4" spacer. I had replica ZR1's on my '91 Z28 until I took them off to sell to my brother.

If they're OEM Corvette wheels that is a FANTASTIC deal!

There are GM Symbols on it so I would think so.

Re: Identify these rims

Yeah, those are 2.25" spacers...but be careful buying from eBay...yes they're A LOT cheaper, but sometimes they don't fit. I bought a set from eBay last spring, and we had to hone out the centers to get them to fit, and we still had to draw them up w/ the lugs to fit on. Let's just say, that was a BEACH to get off! I had to chisel the stupid things off...it was a PITA!

Hmm which would you suggest and what specific lug pattern do I need for the adapter on both sides.

Skulte is a VERY good brand, but you'll be paying 5 times what you bought the wheels for! Haha! Hawks Third Gen has them for $260...but you could always try eBay...it's up to you man! I had spacers, and i said i would never buy them offa eBay again because of that experience.

Well what I would do is if the adapter doesn't fit perfect I'll just return them and say they don't work.

What lug pattern to what lug pattern do I need? Do I need a set of 4 or 2?

Re: Identify these rims

yeah, good luck with that, GET THE RETURN POLICY IN WRITING.. have it stated in something you can use in the event of the spacers not being correct. Barring that, make sure you use a CC to make the purchase (via paypal if you don't want a third party to have the information) that way if there's any type of monkey business on the return issue you have better recourse in not being stuck out for your money.

260.00 isn't really a lot of money when you consider the fact that the parts are whats going between the wheels of the car and the car itself. Just for piece of mind, I'd bite the bullet and buy the good ones. Hell even at what your spending for the spacers if you add the price of wheels and tires, you STILL are getting one helluva deal.

I only use my Credit Card cause Paypal is stupid.

Well right now I cannot afford that. I am dead broke lol.

The pattern you need is 5lug @ 4 3/4in spacing. You need all 4

Re: Identify these rims

im running ebay spacers no complains yet, no reason why they should fail if properly mounted and torqued right. i drive the car pretty hard with 305's tires in the rear and suspension upgrades so i know the spacers will hold up, 5k on them so far and i've noticed nothing, but then again who knows
