Happy 4th anniversary to my IROC-Z28!
4 years ago on this very day...june 27th 2007 I purchased my first car with my hard earned cash! Unfortunately she has lost some of her former glory but it will be restored soon, I have been collecting body parts all year to get ready for paint
4 years ago:

Now, she has some nice mods in her but her looks have suffered. There is also some rust (albeit minor now) you can't see in the pictures.

This car has been driven 45,xxx miles since I bought her with 57k on the clock. I have driven it all the way from the Chesapeake bay bridge to the beaches of Miami. Through pounding florida rain storms, and even maryland snow...(before I bought a 4wd beater last August). I will FOREVER regret the one and only time I considered selling her in a fit of frustration. I LOVE THIS CAR!!!
Anyone else remember the day they bought their thirdgen?

Nice story!
I remember the day I bought my first 3rd gen and the day I sold it. I always regretted that decision!!! I remember the day like it was yesterday that I bought my current IROC..The day will never come when I sell it! Just too much damn fun (especialy during the summer with the t tops off!!).

Take good care of that car. Are you going to repaint it in the original blue? (presuming that that is the original color)
I really think the IROC's and Z's look good in blue. Not in a small part due to the hood louvers breaking up the hood surface, which really makes the color work.
( It's odd trying to explain why I like the colour by summing up the parts that do not have it
)
I do remember the day I purchased my Camaro.
I had been phoning back and forth with the dealer selling it for almost 10 days, really discussing details on a T/A he was selling.
Drove over the 220+ miles to look at the T/A in person. On my way there I had to help a BMW start from a highway parking lot (those 90's V12's do not like the cold. Saw 3 stranded BMW 750's on my way and a few on the way back). It had snowed and was quite cold all day. It took about 3 hours to get there.
The T/A turned out to be a melon. Transmission was busted, car stopped running when breaking and a few other issues as well as a sagging door, headliner and exhaust.
Noticed the RS, took it for a spin and took it home. That's a little over 2 years ago now. I guess at this stage I'm at the same point as you are.
Done a lot, still a lot left to do, and no thinking about selling the car.
I did consider selling it. Ironically enough the car bogged down and refused to start shortly after that. Fixed the issues, swapped almost everything electric in the car to get there and after the repairs were done and the car ran fine again, I no longer wanted to sell it.

Re: Happy 4th anniversary to my IROC-Z28!
I remember my dad took my sister and I to get look at our Formula at the car lot in 2001 (I was 10) and I was at soccer practice one day and rolled up in it to pick me and my sister up. My dad went to talk to the coach and my sister and I were checking it out and ended up locking the keys in the car. Haha, my dad wasn't too happy.
I will never sell my Formula. Too much time and sentimental value. My father just passed away Feb 28th, and its the biggest memory I have of him. I bought the car off him november of 2006 for my first car.
