Project RS-LS
I bought a '92 RS from a site member last August. I finally drug it out of the weeds and got it to the shop to start on a few weeks ago. After I drive this for a while Im swapping my LS1 into the car with a Th350. I have to swap everything out of my '85 to put in here.

Re: Project RS-LS
In its new home. And what you see is a 10 bolt that I spent WAY too much money on.

Back on its rollers. The motor and trans will come out another weekend.

And back to the graveyard

I did all this a few weeks ago.

Re: Project RS-LS
I pulled the rest of the drivetrain yesterday.

The '85 hasnt been raced since about '05 so it gonna get new gaskets along with some new upgrades. After I get some miles on this setup I will swap in my LS motor.

Hey on a side note, could I get you to sell me the brackets that hold your rocker ground efx on behind the door. If like mine, it should be some weird bracket that I have never seen that slides over some discs??

Re: Project RS-LS
Pulled the top end down and checked the leak down. I was expecting some good numbers but I was disappointed after seeing the intake runners rusted up and the carb secondaries rusted shut. Thats what you get for not having an air cleaner on for a good amount of time while it sits. On the good side I sold the 062 Vortec heads on the spot when I took them to the machine shop to get checked.

Re: Project RS-LS
Well I had to buy some nice Cometic head gaskets for the motor. Heads are on and I replaced the stock head bolts with ARP head bolts. Swapping out the 3/8 studs for 7/16 studs so I can use some 1.6 rockers I have. Just measured for my pushrods and those are on order. Dropping the heavy cast water pump for an aluminum one.

Re: Project RS-LS
Got it running finally. No LS motor yet but now I can start on that one. Only thing left is to get the header leaks fixed and get it on the dyno to start tuning it.
