goodbye thirdgen... sold the iroc

The title says it all

Had to sell my awesome 1986 IROC the other day because I'm leaving for college soon. No place to store it over the winter so i had to let her go, couldn't bear the thought of it sitting around while I was away at school anyway. sure gonna miss rippin the ttops off after a long day of work hauling golf bags up and down the fairways haha.

here's a pic on the last day i had it...

I got her running real good too, tough to let it go. Actually the first person that made it out to look at the car ended up buying it. Really gonna miss all the local car shows and the countless hours spent washing, waxing and wrenching on my ride

Damn sorry to hear that bro, at least you know the car will continue to be enjoyed by the new owner! It's a really clean car.

paint wasn't original but yeah car was in great shape. And that helped me get over it, knowing it was gonna keep on getting attention... and also the fresh stack of ben franklins burning a hole in my pocket

It's funny, third generation camaros quickly became one of my favorite type of cars, especially the iroc's, and the fact that they are affordable at my age makes it that much better

Same here man, I'm actually not one of those third gen drivers who is like crazy pro camaro, and mustang hater lol (I came from fox body mustangs). But after driving mine for a little over a year now, I think I've enjoyed it more than I have my 500whp 93 foxbody..not even kidding lol.

Re: goodbye thirdgen... sold the iroc

and after selling mine I was soooo close to buying another one right after. It was a 1988 IROC-Z with an all original 5.7L 350 TPI w/ 65,000 original miles, leather interior, ttops. Completely stock besides the aftermarket stereo system and the steering wheel. The engine was completely untouched besides the starter being replaced. I got the guy down to $4,000 for it....

I'll admit the camaro is a much more sleek/exotic looking car than the mustang. If there is anything I would change on my car, it'd be aquiring t-tops. I live out in Cali so 75-80% of the year I'd probably be rolling around with em out lol. But I can't complain, I got my camaro for free after my grandma passed away.

yea t tops are really nice, especially when they don't leak. that's cool your grandma had a camaro. deff a good incentive to keep the car in the family and pass it on someday down the road

Yeah what's even cooler about my grandma getting this car was she specifically wanted the whole RS B4C police pack with the 1LE suspension and brake goodies, with the purple haze color. So I in turn ended up with the only purple L98 RS I've seen in these parts! The car was 100% stock when I got it, with 117k miles on it.

I just hit 130k and now it's got a fresh rebuilt 700r4, magnaflow cat-back, some blackout tail light covers, and soon some 17x9.5/17x11 grand-sport wheels. My car isn't getting passed down, I love this thing so much I'm getting buried in it! hehe.

being big into classic rock i can appreciate the 'purple haze' paint. it deff takes a real man to drive a purple camaro. my mechanic had a purple camaro i was really thinking about buying a while ago until he decided it was for his wife

I'm sticking part of your quote in my sig LOL. I have to. Yeah I wouldn't trade this color for any other.

You said the paint on your car wasn't original, the white actually looks real nice. What's it called?

I wouldn't doubt that for a second. It has the blue-ish shine when the sun hits it right?

Re: goodbye thirdgen... sold the iroc

the car basically was a completed project car. The more i think about it though, the happier i am that it's sold so my next one can be much more stock camaro so that anything i wanna do will be my own project and my own customizing, hence my earlier post about the one i really wanted...

Gotcha. Yeah it's always nice to start with as clean of a slate as you can get.
