85' L69 Daily Driver :)
Hello everyone, Its a little late in the project to be making a build thread but i figure WTH... Ive had F-Body's my whole life and this one has been my dads little project for a few years. Its basically getting ready to paint and motor/tranny/rear/suspension completely overhauled to run like a brand new car...
Its an L69 5spd car with a couple bolt-ons for some go-fast nothing out of this world, enough power to eat a few stangs is all i really need
Here are some pics to get this thread started.

How does she run? The L69 I had in my car actually ran like you'd expect a stock 350 to run.

Well i was only able to get 3 passes in before the t5 grenaded... but two of those runs were 20 rolls with an 03-04ish mach1 and stayed neck and neck till about 130 when we let off... It runs really really good for being a little 305 and i know it wasn't the driver he was on point with his shifting. Its for sure faster than my LT1 T/A but nothing out of this world... Im happy with it.

What's up man. I too have an 85 L69 IROC. It needs lots of love, but it's my baby and
I love that car. Mine is no where near as fast as you make yours seem though. Mine is slow as hell and has always been.... my wife's old 03 Cavalier was faster. Sounds mean which wards alot of would bees off even though I'd lose if they ever really tried.
At any rate always good to see another one of these cars still around. Not many of them left I suspect.

Yea when i first got it and had 90k on the clock it ran like a turd too but now with the work thats been put in its a whole new animal. I honestly love how it runs im just afraid of blowing another t-5 and dont feel like going through the hassle of swapping to a t-56 like my t/a has which i love!!! So im just gonna baby her and drive ms.daisy everywhere. I dont want her sitting in a garage for another 4 months again waiting to find a transmission lol Its rolling into the paint booth first week of january and im dying to see it blue again... Ill post pics of the motor tomorrow.

What rear end does it have? I'm guessing 3.73's
Mine had 3.23's and auto so that's prolly why yours runs so much better haha
Nevertheless, a stout little mouse under the hood

Great to see the car & good luck with the build!!!
I'm done with the outside + motor (for now). So I'm working on the interior on mine.

i have no idea how many were on mine when i bought it. i think is was around 60 or 70K, but given the condition and the fact i was told it had the engine replaced with another L69 i'm guessing it was over 100K, and since then i've turned the dial again. i don't ever plan on selling mine so mileage isn't really important to me. i like my T5 in this car WAAAAAAAY more then i liked the one in my old 91 Z. it shifts much more pronounced and seems to take whatever beatings i throw at it (which given the stock 190HP isn't much). i plan to swap it out with a T56 eventually, and swap over a carbed LSX to keep it true to the car, while making it alittle more modern and manlier. mine hasn't seen a clean paint job in probably 15 years. all i've ever seen it as is black, gold, primer and rust..... but that will change eventually, and i too will look forward to it. but anyway, good luck with yours and again good to see an 85 "G" car.

It's been a while since I posted any updates so I thought I'd do so. Instagram pics so they are a little brightened up and stuff, but so you have an idea.
Finally got all the skirts on, bought a set of Z06's, waiting to borrow my boys fender roller to go ahead and order the springs to finish off the look for now.

South beach is nice but you get bored of it too, sometimes I'd rather live in the country side like in Georgia or NC.

Thanks again everyone, next steps are silencing the doors some cause this is getting super annoying seeing as all miami streets are banged up. Then it's onto the exhaust something similar to an slp LM2 or a Borla... I'm gonna try to keep posting all the steps as I go from now and keep everyone posted.
