Been flat out busy at work so progress has been slow.
Moved the fuel pressure reg to the valve cover. I had it mounted on the firewall before, but the realized that isn't NHRA legal.
Plumbed the nitrous purge
Finished up the front suspension...
Caster/camber plates
Cleaned up/painted the rear of the car. Also note, rear crash bumper has been removed.
Overall shot...

Re: My 1986 Z-28 build thread *PIC HEAVY*
While I sanded body panels last night Nolan was working hard on my car without me, heres a few pics he sent me.
The one fitting on the fuel cell would lightly rub the tire when turning, so he cut it off and plugged it.
The power hatch motor didnt clear the fuel cell, so he made it a stationary latch.
Heres a quick idea of how the rear fuel cell firewall will work.
He even installed my driveshaft for me!, fit's live a glove thankfully. lol

Re: My 1986 Z-28 build thread *PIC HEAVY*
Updates! Over the weekend Nolan got the exhaust, subframe connectors, and lower control arm relocation brackets done, I used the time on the hoist to plumb the fuel system. The feed is a -10, and the return is a -8. Tim at Apple auto glass is a great guy to deal with and came and installed a brand new windshield for me aswell. 90% of the factory wiring is back in place, extra wires have been trimmed and the harness has been re-loomed. I still need to wire in all the gauges/aftermarket fan, pumps etc... I figure by the end of the weekend the car should be moving under its own power. Anyhow... PICS!

Re: My 1986 Z-28 build thread *PIC HEAVY*
Love the build! I was confused when I saw you ran heater hose into the cabin, and then plugged up the blower motor opening. Then I saw something attached to the front roll cage that I haven't seen before, I'm assuming it's for the heat? I'm curious what it is exactly? For those who don't plan on running A/C and want to clean up the engine bay that is a great Idea.
Can't believe I've missed this build until now. Glad I did come across it though. A lot of good ideas. I will be following your build until the end. Hope you get it rolling on it's own power soon!

Quick question. Which spark plug wire looms are you using? It's what I need for my build.
They look like the Trans Dapt 9370.
Thanks.

Thanks for that. I've ordered a set.
By the way, for what it's worth, I'll be heading out your way and should be in Edmonton around the 3rd week of August. At present, my car is running like crap from a performance standpoint. Trying to sort out this Barry Grant carb is giving me fits although I will say that I've got the highway mileage tuned to over 22 mpg. That should help the road trip cost.
I'd like to make a pass or two at Castrol Raceway when I'm there. Not sure how I'll do because it'll be the maiden trip for the whole new engine package but I'm packing my slicks just the same. Last season's combo went 12.60's. Certainly not in your territory but it IS a cross country cruiser.
Do you figure you'll be on the road at that time? You've got a lot more to do than I did.

Any idea of your race weight?
My full bodied street car with sub-frame connectors and Dyna Mat, tips the scales at 3750 with my 200 lbs in it.
I've lost track of all of the changes you've made. Remove weight, add weight...Maybe 3300-3500 ready to go?
Do you know if the scales are available at Castrol on the JB Street Legal nights?
