Appraisals
Just wondering if anyone has had their Camaro appraised. I recently invested just over $200 and had it done. I paid $9000 for my IROC and it was appraised at $18993. Going by MSRP without destination charge it has gained approx. $400 since brand new! Also, I was shown what his comparisons were and a lot of IROCs were listed around $20000, with one example just over $33000 (only had 300 miles on the clock).
So, just curious if anyone else has gone down this road? And also what you all think of those prices? I think we might all be sitting in figurative gold mines.

Re: Appraisals
I had an appraisal for insurance purposes. If car ever gets totaled or stolen, KBB value in the eye of the insurance company is what, 3grand? I paid I think it was $200 for an appraisal, locally from an outfit called Classic Appraisals. It came out to be appraised at $24k.
The appraiser considered the $ spent into it, the actual components that were used in making the car what it is, quality of work done, condition the car, mileage and also price comparisons for recent sales of the similar caliber at the time.
I truly don't believe I can get that for the car, but who knows. I really never thought about selling it so I don't know.

Re: Appraisals
I would have but the link doesn't appear to include all of the info.
This probably won't work for you: http://www.nadaguides.com/Classic-Ca...t-Coupe/Values
If not, then go here and select the same as I did.

Re: Appraisals
Interesting link, My insurance otherwise goes by kbb. Due to the age/nature of the car, they required an appraisal. Kbb only goes back to 1994.

Re: Appraisals
Bringing this thread back from the dead. Just had my '84 Z28 appraised back in March. 305 H.O., auto, hardtop, rear drum brakes. Nothing special. Painted about 15 years ago with fresh stripes, emblems and decals. Four new stock OE GM wheels too. Car still looks showroom new. Interior bone stock except for radio, minor wear but no tears or rips anywhere. Original dash pad no cracks. Engine stock, matching numbers. Transmission, original case, rebuilt twice. Rear end untouched. I have a very thick folder with ALL maintenance records. Anything I've done to the car since I bought it in January '97 I've got it documented. Car has 133,9XX miles on it and came in at $15,200!! Which I think is REALLY high. Any thoughts on this?
