Brought my 92 z28 back in 2001 (3red owner) with 47k miles. Sold a year later and regretted it.
Fast forward to Dec. 2019 and my wife got a call from the current owner (#5) and he brought it from a corvette place in Beaumont Texas.
He told me he was going to attend Radwood car show
In Austin March 2019.
We went to the show and my wife was in tears. We invited him and son for dinner that evening for dinner at our home. After dinner I took pics and video of the car.
I then asked the question if he ever decided to sell it if I can have first dibs.
He said he would rather sell it to me.
He said his wife wanted a vette but it would be a year or two.
Fast forward to June 2019 as I got a text from him and he was ready to sell.
We agreed on a price and I asked if he needed a deposit and he said no.
Fast forward to August 19,2019 as my dad, my son and made the trip to pick it up in my son's Challenger. Great day.
Have put 800 miles on it since last year.
Just took it for a cruise and it still brings a smile to my face.
Nice story. The next chapter or two in your life may find another thirdgen. So don't count out yet ... I recall some years when I didn't own any, and when I owned many. Just last week, in temps barely above freezing I drove without t-tops and windows down ... (and no heater) ... just because. I felt like a younger version of myself who didn't care about how cold it was out, but only that i was cool. LMAO.
Keep an eye out for another one ... you never know.
