My 1986 Trans Am
I own a 1986 Firebird SE with 69,000 miles that I bought when I was 15 for $400. The car also came with an extra engine (A V8) so I sold the V8 to a friend looking for one for $200. The previous owner had begun mounting ground effects to make it a Trans Am, and so I went junkyard hopping to buy the rest of the ground effect pieces he hadn't found yet and boy was that an adventure. One of the fenders had already been cut out to fit the louvers that are supposed to be on the sides of the hood, so I cut the other side out to match seeing as I didn't want to have to buy a new fender to replace it, and put them in. Since then I've switched out the carpet and interior from Charcoal/Grey to Black/Charcoal. I've also painted it Metallic Blue (Was a faded Metallic Grey color when I bought it). I've begun to put together an audio system little by little when I get the cash aswell. I haven't touched the V6 yet, but I have plans of an engine swap in the fall.
Anyway, I'm 17 now and the car is mostly restored. I have done all of the work with the help of my dad. For more pictures you can look at my CarDomain Page.

Re: My 1986 Trans Am
As promised I have more pictures of the fenders, they aren't great because of where the car is parked and the sun today but they'll do lol.
----------
Well it seems my pics were over the maximum so I think it would be easiest to post my CarDomain profile where I have a new page just for the fenders. Here it is: http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2992622/2
Sorry guys..

Its never to late to wetsand.... you should have done it right after it was painted but i'll be ok as long as you have a buffer.

Re: My 1986 Trans Am
I went/going to school for body work and painting..car looks dry..not saying anything bad. It does need to be wetsanded..its not to late at all. Im only 19 and work in a big body shop so I know a lot about painting and things. You can wetsand anytime after its baked and cooled..if its base coat/clear coat. Car looks great for doing it your self..I did mine myself and my dad..I painted it..he knows nothin about it so I had to when I was 15..It looked ok until I graduated Highschool..now Im doing it all over again..But I want to say Congrats on the car..keep up the work..and what kind of paint did u spray it with?

Well thank you.
We sprayed it with Kirker Automotive Finishes. It was an Acrylic Urethane Enamel paint, Blue Metallic to be specific. I still have a tad bit left. Here's a link of what it looks like: https://www.autobodytoolmart.com/p-12637-15754.aspx
