I'm thinking about getting this T/A for 400 bux. Needs motor and rewired plus some paint and stuff. If I do get it does anyone know where to get the decals for the pace car stuff? Let me know what you think?

 

Also what do you think it's really worth. More than 400 or do you think that is about right. I've seen fully restored or atleast in good shape go for around 21,000 but havn't seen any in this shape. Also there is no rust except a little on the hood.

 

 

the decals can be found at classic industries. but i think that car has the wrong spoiler, it should be the macham wing. wich is now availible through mecham's web site. asctually there was just one in the classifieds here.

no, but take a look.. i meant the classified section right here on tgo... also the car may be fake. check the rpo's and for any documentation.

 

Here's a pic of one that is original with the same spoiler. Havn't seen any with one that is different. If you know of a pic of one with the other spoiler let me know where to look i'd like to see it.

 

o.k. well now i see. its a pace car. i thought from the 1st post it was the mecham racing edition.. looks very similar. you should be searching in the history/restoration forum..

Seems like a good deal for $400.00, if the only major thing that is wrong with it is the missing engine and trans.
Even if it is a clone and not a pace car it is worth $400.00.
Heck, you could probably power wash it and sell it for $600.00.

As for them selling for 21,000. I have never seen one sell for that much, but I have seen them for sale for that much. But being for sale, and sold is a huge difference at least in my book.

The only one I knew of that I thought might have had a chance to sell at that amount had less than 5000 original miles and was in completely mint condition and was a GTA if I remember correctly.
I believe a pace car might sell for that, but would have to be pretty much originally mint condition.
But I could be totally wrong, and with luck, I am.

 

It's still has the trans. It's just missing the motor. I still havn't decided what i'm going to do with it though. I have been thinking about doing a K.I.T.T. Car for a long time but I don't know if I should do it to this one or just Keep this one as the Pace car.

 

If it is in fact a pace car, keep it that way. If not, go for K.I.T.T.

 

It is a true pace car so I guess I will keep it like that if I can get it. I will find out on sat.

I will. They actually had a couple of different colors that you could get I have seen both gray and a saddle brown color for them.

 

I would deffinetly pick that up if not let me know were its at in Indiana and Ill go get it
