New guy, Big Project
New guy, Big Project
Hey Guys,
I just got my 3rd gen back on wednesday. It is going to be a big project and will be a long time before it will be done but I will take my time and do things right and get it done perfectly. Anyway it is a 84 Firebird with a 2bbl 2.8L V6 and a automatic. It is a turd but I got a heck of a deal on it, FREE. Yeah my uncle had it as it was my cousins car till he blew up the motor in it. So it does run halfway but the knock is bad. Anyway it sat for years they wanted to restore it but they ended up getting a 3rd gen camaro that was in better condition for free so they decided to give the firebird to me.
So it was towed to my work as my boss is cool and is letting me store it there and work on it in my free time and use the shop. I work in a custom and collision shop as a bodyman so it will be taken care of.
Anyway it is pretty solid, it needs floor pans in it and a couple patches here and there but other then that it isn't that bad. My uncle threw on a T/A hood on it too so that is good, even though it is loaded with hail dents.
First things first will be to gut the engine and tranny out of it, take out heater core, a/c all that crap as I wont be having any of that in there. Then shave parts of the firewall and the engine bay and paint it. Then floorpans, and a 350 - 5 speed combo will be swapped in. That will be stage one.
Anyway here are the pics, Beware it is a turd. LOL

Welcome to TGO! Now swap something with some go-juice in that thing, fix the body (sounds like it will be no problem for you) and make that thing scream!

Welcome to the board.
Sounds like you have your work cut out for you. Fear not. It'll be done before you know it.
